Merry Christmas to all!! Could not ask for a better place to be with like minded people associated with a GREAT company like HI...

She is adorable, a little xmas angel.
Tell the future Marine "good luck soldier". Tell him to start running now, it's so much better being prepared. I enlisted in the Marines my junior year of highschool, they had a program called Delayed Entry. The long and short of it was that you enlisted while still in highschool, and you train with them every weekend and a month in the summer you went to a mini boot camp. The main benefit to the Marines is having properly prepared recruits BEFORE leaving for boot camp. The main benefit for me was I would get to graduate as a private first class, or possibly a lance corporal is I excelled at boot camp. Both my younger brothers were in the military. One Air Force and the youngest a Marine.

Long story short... I was involved in a motorcycle wreck two months before the the date I was to go to "real boot camp". I lost some movement and needed several skin graphs on my left hand... I just had to buy that Kawasaki ZX7 my senior year of highschool lol. Not a smart move and the Staff SGT in charges of the delayed entry program was livid. I guess I scored off the charts on the ASVAB test. I'm pretty sure they get bonuses or insentives for good candidates. Needless to say that ended my military career before it even started.

Everything happens for a reason, my life took me on another journey, but my brothers and I still hold this county and the ideals close to our hearts. Just be sure you get that young Marine in shape before he leaves... Run run run!

He signed up for delayed entry as well but only a few months ago. He went to personal trainer school for a year and goes to the gym at least once and sometimes twice a day.

Funny thing he just bought a Kawasaki Ninja this summer too. Weathers too cold now I don't think we need to repeat the bike crash.

He's in good shape and very respectful, I don't think he'll have any issues.

I tried to get him to enter officer candidate program but he didn't do that. He was signed up for Marine Security but just found out they don't have room for him so he's going infantry which is what he wanted anyhow. Course anything can change at any time. Recruiters aren't known for speaking the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

That pink rocking moose is adorable. Is it some of G'pa Bawanna's handy woodworking?

Give the soon to be Marine a good send off this Season, with as much of his family together as possible. He will remember that for a long time and it will be something for him to think back on all through basic training. When things get tough, I remember thinking of my family seeing me off and remembering the reason I was there going through all that garbage was so that I could defend them from the American hating evil that lurks amongst all the good guys around the world.

Tough to shop for the future Marine since he can't take anything with him, just the clothes on his back and 20 bucks or less.

He knows I've got his back if the going gets rough, wish I could go with him, since I have real issues with authority and don't like getting up early or being told what to do.

I went out for the first time in about 8 days, got my much needed tires before the snow fell and put on my big boy pants and even went to Walmart solo! That was tough. I even used a debit card to check out with the pin number and everything, my very first time. That was tough too.

I'm a cash or check kind of guy, this swipe the card, enter this, do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around stuff just ain't me.

At least I got some stuff before Christmas, mission accomplished.

can you send him a HI khuk when he gets in theater bawanna? I think it would be really cool and he is bound to like knives ! -- really a tough job he is taking on, I wish him all the luck in the world, and may he thrive and succeed!!! for your sake and his !

merry christmas!!!!!!!

Congrats on the debit victory! Tell you the truth I am a cash guy too, but you can't deny how much easier debit is. You new recruit sounds like he is ready to go. Keep him off the bike if possible until he ships. He will be fine especially having you on his side. Your voice will be in his head when he is far from home.

also money is made to be spent, I only make money so I can buy stuff I like, debts be damned as long as you cover all the basics and don't put out anyone in need, you should spend whatever you like especially for HI products/ antiques and other respectable hobbies :D

Oh, Gehazi, I see in your future much soul searching and attempting to find inner peace. My crystal ball fairly begs you to take heed to the words of wisdom of the Prophet from Corn Patch. Yes, indeedy!! He says that you will never truly find peace and inner happiness unless you make all effort to assist humanity and humble yourself. The Signs all point in the direction of benevolence and self denial. You must discard all external possessions and start the journey to self-realization and not aggrandizement. Swami Bookie will help you set foot upon this road. When you bring all of those nasty, unnecessary sharp pointy things that hold you back from spiritual advancement and hurl them at my feet so they may be removed from initiating any possible danger to the public, then I shall clothe thee in an off white, 400 thread count percale "sarong". You will soon realize that this being December and with Mother Nature's assistance you will feel very much alive as you walk from village to burg seeking enlightenment. It is the least I can do for you......oh, ...and if I read your palm that is another five dollars.
