Well, my fiance's beloved Poppee passed away two weeks ago and the void he's left will be felt for a very long time. I've only known him for little over three years, most of which he suffered from cancer and a number of other complications (one of which was a fall he sustained in the backyard during hurricane sandy, which exacerbated the situation)...but he readily welcomed me into his family from the start and i was just one of the family in no time. It feels like yesterday just last month when he was so happy that I fixed his new Comcast cable box whose clock was too bright for his sensitive eyes. Popppee would've turned 80 next week....he was a Christian, a great story teller, a carpenter, a navy reserve, a freemason, a volunteer fireman, but most of all, someone who was beloved by his wife of almost 60 years, five children, and numerous grandchildren. Poppee used to whistle Blue Moon to my fiance during many of their camping trips near the shores of Jersey in her childhood...so here's a classic...thinking of the man I wish I would've had more time with.
