Hard to beat the Buck 110 as an all around folder.

I have a lot of folders. To quote Eric Burden, "I have long ones, tall ones, short ones, brown ones, black ones round ones, big ones, crazy ones". I keep coming back to carrying a Buck 110. It's not the fastest to deploy, it has a belt sheath not a pocket clip. That said, its sharp, holds an edge (this one from the custom shop is in S35VN) and can do just about anything.

These days I prefer the 112, but I agree with the rest.

In the 1970's I carried and used my 110 in 440C on many college field trips (field botany). I still have it, but it's semi-retired. I do much prefer the new grind to the old. The originals were very thick behind the edge.

My dad carried one as far back as I can remember as a kid. He had two knives, a 110 and a skinning knife.
When I was old enough he gave me a 110. I carried and used that knife my whole life growing up. Through Boy Scouts and more hunting and camping trips than I can count.
At some point fixed blades took over and I quit carrying it. I still have it but rarely get it out as I've got hundreds of knives now.
It's my most prized knife I own. Full of great memories of the outdoors.
Ive had it for over 40 years. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Back in the late 70’s when everybody and their brother had a 110 on their belt, I had a 112.

Nowadays, I have a 3 inch blade restriction in my area but I would still prefer the 112 even if I didn’t.

I have three or four 110’s and they are impossible not to like.

For a knife that will work for both EDC, and quartering a moose its pretty tough to beat.

As a kid I never really got the point of multiple blades, I only ever wanted to use the biggest, pointyest one anyways... so I carried some sort of 110, or knockoff for a long time. Eventually I discovered SAK and have carried one ever since, but after countless days of striking off across the Canadian prairies on my Kuwahara BMX, gopher snare in pocket and a big lockback on my belt, I'll always love the 110.

My old man has carried one since the 70s. Literally every day. I have a custom one coming in for his 70th birthday (shhhhh dont tell).

I respect them, I have about 5 of them, but I just don't carry around a folding belt knife much.

Good Lord! That's one I hadn't heard in a bit.

My original '82 "P.K. Ripper" got a resto about a decade ago and still sits (*under about two pounds of dust) in my garage.

*My apologies for the threadjack. Carry on...

The Kuwahara is long gone, but I do still have my late 90's Ryan Nyquist Bactrail Pro still hanging in the shed. At that point they were trying to build them bullet proof at any cost, and I'm sure that bike weighs about 45lbs. Always hoped one of my kids might want it, but alas...* threadjack over*

I own 3 110s and 2 112s. I carried a 112 for decades, great knife it does everything you ask of it. no doubt. For the cost of a 112 420hc or 110 420hc its hard to beat. But it is heavy and the original style ones do not have pocket clips. Not really an issue for me but I think it is an issue for some knife buyers. The Bucks I buy are made in the USA, for me that's a plus. That said I own knives from many countries, in doing so I assess the knife not the country of origin.
