Has a forum member ever done this to you?

Another photo, a cell phone shot of the knife I'm blaming RamZar for:

It really is an extremely nice little knife.

I would say that seeing multiple beautiful pictures of a knife and reading lots of people saying good things about it has a major influence on my purchase decision.

Me too, even if I am only slightly in the market. Knives I have purchased strictly because of postings on Blade Forums: Spyderco Native, Spyderco Delica and Endura, SOG Tigershark, Kabar Becker BK-2, Kabar Becker BK-14, BK-15, BK-24 and BK-7, Rough Rider slip joints, Cold Steel Tuff Lite, Kabar Dozier Folding Hunter, Mora's, a couple Ontario machetes, and a ZT. Of those, the only one I really don't like is the BK-2 and the Ontario machetes.

These dam carothers field knives I see everywhere and they are growing on me like a frigging rash , a good rash if there is such a thing

Got a 0452cf then everyone pushed me into a 452g10. The war admiral as well. Have 2 of ea. Models (waiting on 2nd war admiral)

I've been on the fence about the 247 and the Mini, decided to pick up my first 0392 instead... But this thread is not helping!!! :D

Well I did buy a few Emerson CQC-7's and a Super Commander because of a certain member's recommendation here.

Had an original 0392 and have a 247. Both excellent, but you have to get a 247.

Agreed, third day with mine and it is even better now as it becomes more broken in. I have really become a big fan of the ceramic ball pocket clip - smooth, secure and great in the hand.

I have a similar experience with that certain individual too: One mini 7 and one Commander (and a Horseman, but I can't blame that one directly on him:) )

I often see people raving about knives they love, and yes it does make me think " maybe I could love this knife as well "

I'll expand this past just a single person, and say the knife community's general lover for the PM2 is what made me purchase one. I wasn't in love with the look of it until I got one in my hand, but because 99% of the people on these here forums and the tubes had nothing but rave reviews of it, I had to pick one up.

Guilty as charged! :)

I particularly liked EvilGreg's comment: "I told her RamZar made me buy it and she said "what's a RamZar?"".

I must say 2016 introduced two standout EDC flippers: Todd Begg Steelcraft Mini Bodega and Olamic Wayfarer 247.

Really liking these Olamic's 👍

That's a beauty Officer's Match.

RamZar - :o

I am NEVER clicking on this thread again!!
And that horribly enabling enabler RamZar is truly evilllllll!!!
Can't you take some bad pictures????
😬😬😬😬😬

+1 on the PM2. Had one, just to see "what all the hype was all about," and even sold it. Annnnnnnnd 4 PM2's later, I'd say it's one of the more favored modern folders I own. It definitely all started with reading thread after thread, seeing pic after pic.

As of yesterday, I blame everyone in the wayfarer closing smoothness thread which got me thinking of the knife.i didn't have much interest in it at first, but It led to youtube and google image searches which was a real bad idea. I eventually found the acid rain edition of that knife, with tons of holes in the scales for which I'm a sucker for.I hate to say it led to an email to Eugene and I'm now on his list of contacts when the next batch is ready in a couple of weeks. And ive said in past threads that I'm done with knives over 200-250 . I guess that was short lived. You guys on this thread are so lucky that the mini bodega is a 3" blade for which I know ill never carry, but its real real tempting, and the great pictures don't help either.and Ramzars doing it again with those amazing bodega pics and the 247 under it.Ha !

Have you ever found yourself buying a knife just because some forum member kept mentioning it or posting pictures of it or something similar?

Yup. All the pictures of the Olamic 247 had me getting one of my own sight unseen and now I'm just in love.

But Lordy, that mini Bodega is calling my name too. I blew my knife budget for the year but, man, those pics of yours are a beauty to behold...

I read about a knife, see a pic - next thing you know I'm Google searching the knife and watching YouTube reviews. Next thing you know ... the brown truck shows up at my office or a red, white and blue box comes with the mail.

I have learned much here at BF over the years.
I learned about knives that I had previously not known about and learned of knife needs I never thought I had.
It's obviously rewarding as i keep coming bacl.
To the point of the OP's question. I have seemingly more than anything else - learned to spend money on knives hanging out on BF ... but i've also met some of the knicest folks!:thumbup:

Not me. I have very specific tastes and other peoples opinions and thoughts on knives don't really effect me at all simply because my tastes are much different than most.
