This is what you call a flipper's dilemma.Oh yeah, the Rendezvouz is this weekend, isn't it? Same weekend as BLADE show. Ooof.
Sunday night.for some fanatics it started on mondaybut yes, friday and saturday
Well, that's usually the case when you have a situation like the Rendezvous where they are going to have a bunch of super single-digit-run small-batch knives and an anniversary knife made just for that show. All the GEC people gotta get in there to get their flipper bait. I mean, it's the same as BLADE. I've got Early Bird passes, primarily so I can watch all the bearded fat dudes* in black t-shirts, 5.11 shorts, and Mystery Ranch and TAD backpacks shuffle-run to the hot makers' tables so they can buy up everything they can, so they can flip them after the show. Heh, too bad the joke's always on them, because everyone knows the truly desirable stuff was purchased through bro fistbump deals in the Pit on Thursday night, as well, all the people like Arizona Customs and EBossHoss got to walk around the tables Friday morning before the show even opens, oops!for some fanatics it started on mondaybut yes, friday and saturday

Sounds like it’s for the best!Oh yeah, the Rendezvouz is this weekend, isn't it? Same weekend as BLADE show. Ooof.
thats what causes some of the issues i guess, if the people who actually like the knife bought it instead of the speculators, then the rest of us wouldn't have to pay inflated costs (extra shipping, pp fees etc) the problem is, some people have fomo bad. For example, i got caught up on the 39s and then watched when folks dropped prices to get out. Some dealers released at a higher price then others. Now I over paid, but thats on me. So for the newest bladeforum knife, Im sure at that price, people who really want it, will willingly pay it. It will likely remove a lot of the speculation and flippers that plagued the previous knives. Youll notice the 34s dont command a tremendous premium, but boy did the spring street barlow go nuts. (again, just observations, hope no one feels they got their toes stepped on)
Plus a handling fee for my troubles of course.I'll just sell it and get my money back.
My expenses are through the roof! You understand.Plus a handling fee for my troubles of course.![]()

100%. The popularity of GEC is still through the roof to the point where people will spend whatever it takes because they believe they'll definitely get their money back (or better).
I think we've got a bunch of folks who just irresponsibly deal in GECs - buying to scratch the itch, then selling once they realize they really didn't want it.
It's a frenzy void of accountability. What does it matter if I buy a knife I can't afford or don't really want? I'll just sell it and get my money back.
Especially when you factor in the blade delete tax that you also pay Jack.agreed. and to the people who got the deep pockets to afford it, good for them. I know i'd rather not have to pay more than I need to just due to other's greed and speculation.
