Has the best knife already been created?

Aw man, haha, how in the world did that commercial get you, out of curiosity? Did you have good experiences with other Gerbers?
Just curious, because the video is like, "Yeah... rock climbing, camping... RUGGED. You wanna be rugged, too? BUY", was the message I got.

Donate to me, today. America. Grandma's pies. The values we all share. Old Glory. Our boys in uniform! Donate now. 😁
Well, that is sort of the idea behind an add. To sell a product.

Yeah, but that one ain't it.

I mean, they didn't even stab through one car!
ha
lol yeah it's an old commercial too but it tries to push all those 'manly' buttons that everyone has, and the song in the background is catchy too....'Ain't no grave gonna hold me down...'
G2
Yeah, I feel that 😁

Duh! Of course the best knife was already created!

It hasn't yet been created. I'm thinking it will be a small, easy to carry, modified light sword having the ability to set the cutting power, the length of the blade, and various other cutting tools for the edge for the intended job. Surgeons are already using something like this cutter.

Thats not a lazer cutter. It’s a lazer stimulator..

The '13 BOSS 302s. I had one for a few years. Fun car at first, but after the time I had it, I was ready to move up to something else. Ultimately, I now have a C7 and it's simply a superior car in every respect, but definitely a different driving experience for sure.
Lol - so your car is “superior in every respect” and mine is “terrible to drive on the street”?

Well shoot then I guess you win huh?

Congratulations!🎉🎊🤡

You seem to have taken some personal attack from my comment, which wasn't meant and I wasn't trying to "win" anything. I have owned (and own) both cars. But I'm the clown, I guess. LOL

Thanks for the clarification but I didn’t feel attacked, just trying to point out a lack of tact.

Would have been so easy to post something like: “I had a 2013 Boss 302 but I didn’t like the way it felt on the street and now I drive a C7 which TO ME (emphasis added) is superior in every way.” Hear how different that sounds?

Leading with “these were terrible” with no explanation and then proclaiming something else to be objectively superior is just kind of an impolite way to communicate imho.

I’m a fan of polite conversation here.

Oh, my apologies. I wasn't attempting to appear superior, however, it appears that you seem to think I was stating an opinion. I wasn't. The C7 is objectively a better performance car than the BOSS 302s are. I was speaking from experience. That doesn't mean the 302s suck, or aren't fun cars. They just got bypassed by technology, as most things tend to. As is, I had written up a full analysis, but we've derailed this thread with car talk probably more than was warranted, so need to really continue with it here.

No, it hasn't. Lightsabers, guys.

Best car:

Kidding of course. I've owned a lot of cool cars and there are, of course, "better" ones but the E39 M5 is special.

ETA: Just noticed this was back when I wasn't even getting the required annual state safety inspection. I remember going almost two years without current registration back then. Good times. Now that I'm back in a more rural area, I'm back to my old ways.

All one has to do is simply ask Lasador, he knows
the answer to the question that seems to be stumping everyone. 😉
-And I thought this was a Knife discussion...
what's with all the car chit chat 😒

It's kind of a ridiculous question even if it might result in some critical thought and consideration. It also results in ridiculous answers plus people like showing off their cars and knives.

"Best" can be both a subjective judgement and a measured quantity.

And yet, in my book, there is no universal "best" of anything. Sure, the properties of a finished knife can be quantified as "better" than another similar knife, but what that knife is used for may influence the judgement of its suitability for that task.

This applies to cameras (something I know about) and csars, and about anything else. A super slo-mo camera that can capture 10,000 frames per second is not suitable for wedding photography. A Chevy corvette C-8 or Ford GT can go faster than most other street legal cars, but neither can oick up six, eight year olds for soccer practice.

Yes, today it’s a CRK Umnumzaan and a Spartan Harsey.
Tomorrow it may be something else.

Just for the record here - I wasn’t claiming my car to be “the best” or even “better” than other cars. To me personally it’s the pinnacle of a very particular CLASS of car that was created when the first Mustang was born and that has essentially disappeared - the pony car. Current Mustangs are so large/heavy that they fit better into the muscle car class imo. (Oh and yeah for sure I like to show it off too). :p

…ok back to knives…

IMO , the "best knife" is the one in your hand that gets the job done when you need it !:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The pursuit of absolute perfection in a knife (or anything else ) is endless and ultimately fruitless . 💩

I would think that if I have to skin an animal and the temperature is getting colder, you are in bear country and the sun is setting, then you are very glad to have any knife on you at that instant to get the job done!! Of course, I hope it holds an a edge well enough where you can get it done with little to no sharpening.
