Lol, voided warranty for a dull swedge:rolleyes:

I think there may be a lack of communication somewhere, firstly, because it's called a swedge... Of course your warranty will void if you purposely dull/grind the edge... Not the swedge...

The Email is clear. And concise. You all can arm chair this all you want. The email mails is clear about dulling the swedge or it being changed is NOT recommended.

Right, they don't recommend it, and if you screw it up and then want them to fix it, they don't have to, since it said it may void the warranty.

They have to put things like that, or some yob would take it to the belt sander, and wreck a perfectly good knife...then scream about them not fixing it under warranty.

Just get rid of the knife, get another Strider. Sounds like a much better match for someone like you.

I had my keys in the same pocket, wearing shorts. And reaching for my keys, I ran my index finger along the edge .
The worst was when, I reached in my pocket and mistakenly grabbed the open side with my thumb and when I went to pull the knife it snagged. And my thumb was sliced. But good.

I'm still trying to picture how this happened. You carry your keys in the same pocket as your knife? Just seems strange how you would get cut since the blade would be against the seam of your pocket. The only thing that rides in the same pocket as my knife is my wallet.

If you've ever seen the kinds of crap some people do to their knives and call it "pimping", then you'd understand why they are saying don't touch it. My Umnumzaan isn't sharp enough to cut my with the false edge, there is a very small and distinct flat section on the harpoon. If it can't be fixed because it would be "out of spec" and you don't want to dull the swedge, then the only option is to get rid of it. How that gets done is irrelevant, the point is you just need it gone. Best of luck.

Screw keeping it. I am going trade it out when the right knife comes along. Till then I will EDC my SNGcc. Done
