Hate my blur - How about you?

Mine is stored across the country, so I can't check to be sure, but I believe the Blur is one of the few AOs Kershaw makes that comes with a detent hole drilled in, in which case all it takes is removing the torsion bar.

The detent on the Blur is just fine without the torsion bar.

I don't hate mine, but i would not buy another Kershaw, when I can buy Benchmade, Spyderco which i prefer, are much better IMHO...I do own three Kershaw and one ZT

But I have also lost track of how many Benchmade or Spydies I have owned.

I like the blur a lot. I don't know why though. I just gave my one and only to my brother. One thing that is not good about the blur IMO is the pocket clip. Too big and thick. Not low enough in the pocket either. The Blur and Leek are value knife classics.

I bought a Kershaw Blur 4 years ago and disliked it right from the start because of the assisted opening. I ended up giving it away but after learning from this forum that you can disengage the torsion bar, I wish I would have kept it. Just out of curiosity, when you disengage the torsion bar on the Blur, does the blade flow freely and hang open if you hold it upside down or stay locked until engaging?

I'm not the biggest fan of the knife. Mainly because the thumb studs always scrape up the side of my hand. I suppose I can sand it down, but havent had the urge to yet.

Couldn't stand mine. Tanto combo edge bleh...

I ended up ruining mine on my belt grinder trying to grind out the serrations. Later I canabilized it to put standoffs in my zt 0350. Worked great for that.

I never thought about giving it away, but I given sooo many knives away I don't feel too bad about it. :)

Got mine as a second, for a great price, from Kershawguy. Best money I've ever spent on a knife. Had the CF/154cm version, but for some reason I like the grip tape better. Call me crazy. I also took it apart for the first time today, because the torsion bar was rattling. So I had to try it out unassisted for a while. And it is very very smooth that way. But I like the action on the Speedsafe, so I put the torsion bar back in. It's a great knife either way though.

When taking yours apart, did the stop pin give you any trouble? Mine was stubborn as a mule.

I have 6 or 7 Blurs, but never really warmed up to them. I know that hoarding something you don't really dig is stupid, but that's how I ride. Haven't carried one in a long time. But today I saw a red one for sale in B/S/T, and thought it looked pretty cool, so I started carrying my red Blur today. And you know, its a pretty darn good knife. Duh!
