Hats are one of my loves, but for some reason I cannot get rid of this one. It's almost 14 years old now and I wear it at least 4-5 days per week working outside around the house. My husband HATES this hat and hasn't quite found my appreciation for it. No other hat fits quite like this one. I suppose I'll wear it until the bill of the hat falls off. Until then, this is my precious with my beloved Case trappernut stuck thru the loose fabric on the bill.

Yeah, I know what ya mean. I love flat caps, and my old favorite is a linen Panama Jack. Had it for years and it fits my head great. It's sun faded after all these years, and is not the medium gray it used to be. For my birthday, my better half gave me a really nice tweed flat cap made in Ireland. Great quality hat, but it just doesn't feel like my old standby. Maybe it will just take time to break in to my head.

Had a small cancer lump removed from my temple a couple of years ago. When I met with the doc to discuss it he said, "You don't wear hats, do you Frank."
I said, "Sure I do. I wear them a lot."
He responded, "Ah, but you wear baseball caps, don't you."
I nodded.
He gave me direction, "You need to wear hats with brims."

Fair enough. On doctors orders...

My wife is now mad at you! I was looking for an excuse to buy a new lid and now I've got it, cancer prevention. Top shelf on the right is the hat I wear everyday, bottom shelf second from the right is my summer cover. To keep it knife related, there's a peanut in there.
