This thread has been in hiatus for a while thought it needed a re boot. These are some photos i came across in rural/farming magazine i browse. These are city girls or overseas girls[Jillaroos] on a working holiday that are getting some work life experience before settling down to Uni or a career. Great learning curve as they learn new skills and get out of their comfort zone. A lot of them have had pampered and spoilt lives, this gives them a reality check, and teaches them decision making and working as a team, and getting on with people from differing back grounds. Also teaches them about other people and animals being reliant on them, having to look after, groom and feed and water their horses. They run the same jobs for boys as well, thought i would post some photos. Horsewright Horsewright Hope all is well over there with you, don't know if you are getting the filthy weather, hope not, take care and look after those girls.:).

Good deal! There's lots of folks that could benefit from the same, real life experience:

My girls are doing fine:

Daughter was bummed though. She'd forgot her knife:

The sterling silver California Poppy on her hatband we made her, was given to us by the ranch we buy our bulls from.

She remembered her rope though:

Found a rather beat up 4X Resistol George Strait signature in a thrift shop for 20 bucks. Bit of steam and reshaped crown and brim. Just had come in out of the rain so some water spots on it in this pic. Someone just gave me an 80's vintage 7X Resistol in "mist" color. It was wrapped in plastic but stored in a box with other old clothes,so badly out of shape. I've steamed the crown to my desired shape, but I'll have redo the brim as I got the "roll" off center to the crease. I'm starting to really like fixing up these old vintage hats.:thumbsup: pics of the other when I fix the brim.
