Trade Pre-production Benchmade for Chris Reeve Folder.
I've been sitting with this Benchmade Ares for many years. It is the limited edition of 500 that they did for Leupold way back when. I worked for the SA agent for Leupold back then, and the European/African rep for Leupold lent us 2 different knives that were pre-production samples, for our local arms show. These had been for display at the US SHOT show before that IIRC. The 2 knives were numbered Zero of 500, very unusual. I guess it can be called a prototype or pre-production sample or whatever you like. They were still writing the model number on the box manually as you can see from the box. The one knife was this one (x of 500) and the other knife was the wood scale version (x of 1500) that another manager bought and still has.
Anyways, there is only one of these, and one of the other Areas model. Before these could go back to the rep in Europe, we lost the agency for Leupold, then thereafter our company closed down. I bought this when we closed down. That rep (Stefan S.) and the main Leupold guy (Andy) then left Leupold, and are now with the Sig Sauer Optics dept. I can 100% guarantee that this is genuinely 0 of 500 as per the pics with nothing altered.
Anyways, I have been considering something that I can rather carry than collect, and would like to get a CRK folder instead. I have absolutely no idea what this BM would be valued at, but I suspect it would be worth a used and carried CR folder. I am not too fussy which one or which size. Can have snail trails, can be slightly sharpened. As long as it is a good condition.
Does anyone have am Umnumzaan, Inkosi or Sebenza or xxx? that they would consider trading? Can possibly throw in some bucks for the right trade. More pics available. Thanks for your time.
