HAVE THEY GONE TOO FAR? Cold Steel Razor Tek

IDK , folks will buy TwoSun and other brands with basically no meaningful warranty or even return privilege .

But gotta be high quality and relatively bargain priced to pull that off .

Premium prices for budget materials , indifferent designs , and lack of customer service will eventually spell DOOM .

It used to to take customers of a decent brand a fairly long time , to catch on to a radical change in management .

Not so much these days , of the information age !
I did contact GSM customer service a little while back wanting to know if a particular retailer is an authorized CS distributor. The young lady I spoke to was very nice and immediately confirmed that the retailer was legit. But I am almost positive she probably had no knowledge about the actual individual products.
Yes, totally agree with you about the new products….overpriced and boring designs.

Decent knife but here in the UK you are looking at over $300! Possibly OK for a knife that size in 3v but this is an absolute rip off.

TwoSun charges better than appropriately for their materials and work, and they also don't sell backyard choppers and knives sold as survival or woodsy knives. Warranties are a bit less relevant when it's a daily driver pocketknife and not an impact tool.

Good point ! :(

Don't get me wrong about this . GSM is definitely making lots of terrible business decisions , at least for the long run .

A strong warranty and great customer service is highly valued for anything people might use hard and break or just need parts / repair .

If the price is consistent with "disposable " , not so important .

But many of GSM prices are now very high , so buyers that find out that have no support ,when needed, will most likely NOT be returning to repeat their folly .

That's what I thought about the Gurka Kukri Plus in 3V and GSM's price on it. I could buy three good Nepalese Custom's for the price their asking for this Kukri. That blade should be about 300.00 tops.

Any Becker knife really, hehe. For the asking price of that Razor Tek, I’d get a BK7 or BK10 first.
I'm not really a fan of the overbuild Becker aesthetic. The BK16 is the only knife I would consider buying. I like Ontario knives better, but their sheaths are undesirable.

Dude, I just got a BK16. Haven’t used it extensively yet, but I love the build quality already.

I think that knife is so un cold steel like. It seems to follow the trend of a 1 piece blade w 2 handle slabs. And at 140 something for that steel ? They should release the damn trailmasters already; and Not in 4034 !its been 2-3 years what the hell is going on? That razortek is completely un necessary.

$230.00 here in Canada, at my preferred vendor. Considering the materials, I wouldn't buy it at $100.00

Upnorth I've just done the exchange rate pounds to Canadian - circa $450! (equivalent in the UK).

I recently read GSM's statement re CS, they want to bring the company into the "mainstream" haha so sell crappy steel at inflated prices to the general public who in the main won't have a clue.

They've discontinued the Warcraft medium tanto in 3v and I've just noticed our main online knife store here in the UK has increased its price for numerous CS knives including a 30% increase for the price of the SRK in 3v!

Imo for the knife "enthusiast" CS is finished.

I question the engage, too.Just not sure of the blade to handle ratio, blade shape, and the tang of the blade bothers me; that choil which is kinda ugly and it makes the blade closer to 3.25

Wow, check back on the video comments from the original post. Cold Steel has dropped the price of the Razor Tek line apparently due to fans of the company expressing their outrage.
