If so, what did you do to get results??

I contacted a vendor and explained to him that I was interested in a certain karambit for edc purposes and let him know that I didn't want anything too big. He advised that the karambit in question would be fine and if I wasn't satisfied to send it back and I'd get a refund. I received it and it was way to big for me and I sent it back to him 4 days later. It was held at the post office for several weeks before he picked it up. When I contacted him he explained that his wife had an accident and needed surgery and he did not have any medical coverage so he is having financial difficulties at this time. I told him take care of your family but keep me posted on when I would be able to receive my $325.00 back. well it has been since 2-11-08 and now for the last 30 days I am having a very difficult time getting in contact with him. His phone number goes to a generic voice mail which he does not call me back when I leave a message and no responses from the emails I have sent. Obviously, I am just wanting my $ back. What should I do? I didn't give this individuals name or the company he represents because I wasn't sure if it would be the right thing to do. I'm sure you guys would like to know so you could avoid any similar situations. So just let me know if it is ok to release that info to you guys and I will (I would hate to flame anyone but this is upsetting). What do you suggest I do? PLEASE HELP!!!!

How did you pay for it? If you used a CC, you may still be able to file a dispute.

it seems that many knifemakers have used that same story in order to avoid fulfilling their obligations.

i dont know whether they were all legitimate, but it sure is an odd coincidence that these knifemakers all need some sort of medical procedure when it comes time to either refund or make good on an order.

certainly not the norm, but there have been at least a half dozen in the last couple years.

Does this vendor have a name?

It makes somewhat of a difference who he is.

i try to avoid payment by personal checks, money order, and cashiers check because you really dont have any recourse if the deal goes bad. good luck with the outcome and please keep us posted.

is the kerambit still at the post office??? perhaps you could recall it and at least get the kerambit back...

Tom called me and advised he is working on getting the $ together for me. It seems like he is having a difficult time right now but wants to make ammends. I will keep you guys posted.
