My post count is high because I still keep up with the "times" so to speak, regarding knife culture and the goings-on. And when I can be bothered to post, I will post, especially to help some of the newer members with their inquiries. I know a fair bit about various steel types and their application. I was also a moderator at one point before stepping down. I like knives and would carry them just because, knowing that I'd probably never have to use it to cut anything while on the go. For the time being though, nothing speaks to me. When I did own knives, they progressed from factory all the way to a custom I designed myself. I probably would have a custom now except that the maker completely forgot about my order even though I commissioned it over 2 years before, at the time. I basically got the run around. I was quite upset, but it happens. I didn't lose anything.
The Buck Marksman does look interesting to me, but not enough for me to get one. It appeals to me from a modders stand point. If I got that knife, I would take it apart, and CNC machine titanium scales to replace the aluminum ones. I would make my own pocket clip and mount it on the spine of the knife.
But the knife itself looks a bit too meh to me, and not worth my time and effort.
Sal Glessar, gimme that Jani-song already (so I can remove the scales and make them out of titanium). BTW, the Jani-song is the only knife that I would carry with the pocketclip where it is since the clip serves to index.
