Have you ever found a knife.

I found one of those large swiss army knives, with a ton of gagets on it..it was only missing the tweezers...I went to a knife shop and saw the same model there, and it was going for 80 bucks..so it was a sweet find..I still have it...still clean and tight..

A couple of years ago, I found a really beat up, small Boker stockman with jigged brown bone scales by the side of my road. The pen blade is broken off at the base, the shield is gone, and one scale is badly cracked. However, the carbon clip and sheepsfoot blades are in perfectly good shape and fully functional. I live in a rural, farming area so I imagine it got dropped by a farmer. It lives in my motorcycle tool kit.

I found a Buck 110 knock-off in a park.
I found a Kershaw Leek (damascus) in a laundromat.
Several knock-off Spydercos in the parking lot at work.
Several SAK knock-offs in different locations...

I found a cold steel tanto folder in a park laying in the dirt next to the University of FL back in the early 90s. Wasn't even into knives then. It was brand new. In the next few years it would be used for anything but cutting. Now that I like knives I can see the horror story in someone losing what they felt was a nice knife only to be found by the adult version of that crazy neighbor kid in Toy Story.

I was born and raised in Gainesville and still here. What park was it?

I found a small bait knife when I was probably 6. I got in trouble with it because I took it to a school fair because it was my new found tool/ toy

Found a pretty nice swiss army knife with the tip broke off the blade. Also found a stremlight flashlight most recently in a management area that I was riding my 4 wheeler. I stopped and turned around as my dad was riding past it. He said he wished he had seen it and really seemed to like it so I gave it to him.

Probably some other stuff I'm not remembering at the moment.

I found a Buck 110 in a trailhead parking lot, a Schrade OT on a fishing pier and a Hen and Rooster stiletto in a field at a highway rest stop.

Oh, and my son found an Ontario machete on the side of the road a few weeks ago.

Also found some Oakley sunglasses in the float tube lake along with some flippers and a white gold wedding ring in the river across the srteet where we fly fish.

i found a nice bayonet in the courtyard of my apartment complex when i was 3 1/2, still have it. 7 or 8 years ago, i found a camillus cuda in the wal mart parking lot... can't remember the exact model, but it had about a 4 inch blade, and a thumb disc opening/closing mechanism. it was a pre-production, #90-something... it went for a swim in lake eufaula one day. a couple months ago i found a beretta folder, with a tanto blade in the entrance to the lowe's i work at. it's still sitting in lost and found, far as i know.

I found a CRKT m-16 edc....I polished it out and gave it a fine edge, then batoned it to failure of the locks system.

Found a couple of SAKs over the years. Lost 1 BM osbourne and 1 BM Gaucho too... I'm not exactly breaking even...

I found a promotional item National Geographic el cheapo SAK knock off. It even smelled cheap. If I remember correctly, I just put it back where someone else might pick it up. Didn't want that thing mingling with my knives!:barf:

i work at a private club for magicians in Hollywood CA, and in the dim lighting and heavily patterned carpet, its really easy to lose things for good, but i have a tendency for finding things, ive found coins and tricks out the yin yang, but ive also found three differant knives, a nice classic slippie, a very high quality Italian stiletto, and a rather decent butterfly knife i found backstage once.

Did anybody find any of the knives that I have lost??? I wont name them because its embarrassing haha. BUT seriously did you find my knives? I would like them back...just saying.

The knives I have seen in bushes and on the ground in bad parts of town all had blood on them; I kid you not. It's been years since I've been around those parts. Also, back then, I was only around those parts because I didn't know any better. I had just moved here from another country. This was 19 years ago.

EDIT: Needless to say, I never picked them up.

I can sympathize

When I was about 8 my brother found a cheap bali in the bushes near our apt., it was a little "dirty". :barf:

My favorite story: I found a run-over Vic Huntsman in the road, back in 1992-93. I replaced the scales, and carried it for 14+ years. It loosened up, and, literally, the same month I retired it, and looked into buying another SAK . . . what happens? I find another run-over Huntsman, laying in the road.

Tell me that isn't weird.

Other than that, I've found four of the little SAK Classic keyring knives, over the last 15 years.

thx - cpr

My grandma found some large Victorinox on the ground many years back. It was beaten the hell out of, dirty, and scratched up, but still very functional. I never did clean that knife out...

-my first real knife was found by my sister under a bunk bed at camp. It was a Wenger SAK

- found a victorinox mini-champ in the grass in the front yard. Airport took it from me though.

- Found an old KA BAR trapper in my dads workshop in the garage. Cleaned it up and everything and its now one of my most treasured

- My sister again found an old gerber in the lost and found at her college and brought it home to me (mean, but she said it'd been there for months)

The only knife I've found wasn't exactly a knife it was a Leatherman Wave... Found it while I was at work left on a display table. I asked every worker if it was theirs and left it in our lost n found for a month before deciding no one was going to come in for it and took it home. This was an exceptional find.

I found a gerber multitool with the blade broken off at a boat ramp, and I found a gerber paraframe folder somewhere in a park or something... can't remember now.

I still have both.
