Have you ever found a knife.

I found my first knife when I was 6 in a McDonalds ball pit. It was a tiny Frost knife. Has two blades. I still have the knife today.

A couple of years ago I was hiking in the desert with my older cousin shootin jack rabbits on this OLD trail, we were sharing only one canteen (stupid) in the middle of summer. So I was sorta in a daze starring at the ground not even lookin for the diseased rabbits. I just thought out of no where it would be pretty cool to find a knife on this dusty sage brush trail. And then I saw this metal butt end of a hilt showin up thru the sand. I picked it up and took it home, it was like an EDC fixed blade sheath and all. I could tell it been sitting there for a couple of years due to rust. I took it home cleaned it off and found out it was an old Kinfolk or Kinfalk can't tell nowadays. On the other side of the blade it says 330.Kinda off topic but, anyone have any ideas how long ago this knife company was in buissiness? and where this company built their knives? I'm kinda curious hehe if anything just shoot me an email
thanks a lot, sp00kedd

My first knife was found in the back yard while digging up dirt when I was 7 yrs. old. It was an Imperial Stockman w/carbon blades. It had to my eyes ugly black and white delrin handles and it already had a patina so there was very little rust. I wish I still had it!

When I was 12 or 13, I found a small fixed blade in a leather or faux-leather beaded sheath. The blade was maybe two inches or so, maybe from potmetal and had a wood handle. It was supposed to look Native American. They were popular at the the time (late 70's/early 80's.) Anybody else have one of those?

When I was 17, in the trenches on the Belgian border during the first world war, I found a knife. It was eleven inches in length, had pink G-10 handles, and it spoke to me in Icelandic. Naturally, I couldn't understand a word, so I ignored it most of the time -- unless I was eating peyote buttons with my fellow soldiers. When we all ate peyote in the trenches, we would sit for hours and listen to my pink-handled knife regale us with yarns of its childhood in the Sudetenland, and how its father used to sing songs as he carried the buckets of urine.

~25 years ago, found a Schrade slip joint 2-blade knife while hiking. Someone had broken off the tips of both blades (probably just threw the knife away).
I reprofiled the points on both blades and used that knife for only ~6 months. I brought it to school (a no-no) and had it in my pants pocket in my gym locker and on that one particular day, some kid decided to break into many of the gym lockers while all the kids (including me) were out in the field during our PE class.
That thief took the Schrade knife...

Ah well - easy come, easy go...

No but I've contributed to someone else finding one-lost my Buck 500 on the street getting into my truck-went back hours later and no sign of it. Hope they enjoy it. Post a thread if you found it I'll give you my return address:D

When I was 18 or so (20+ years ago now....), I was hiking with some buddies along Tiger Creek, near Jackson, CA.

Found this little guy lying in the sand:

It's a Zippo knife, which I thought was kind of cool.

It's a little hard to tell from my cell phone picture, but there's an engraved hunting scene on one side:

Found this when we cleaned out the back of my truck after 3 years:

But have lost one and misplaced one knives, and if anyone finds a China built Uncle Henry Stockman with REALLY scratched blades it's the one I misplaced.

My coworker can NOT sharpen knives and he messed up the blades. I did get them sharp.

The Trapper looked even worse than that when it came out from under the toolbox. What's left of what I think was the Spey blade is wicked sharp!

Found one about a week ago, single blade Schrade Old Time (USA made) that looks like new. Found a number of Case slip joints in a semi-furnished apartment chest of drawers that I had just rented. Most of the knives I find are junk, but every now and then you find a winner.

One house I did some demo work on had a whole collection of fantasy blades. Not into them, threw them in the trash.

A few years back me and an old co-worker were leaving a job site near porterville when me eagle like eyes :D spotted what appread to be a custom 110 with stag scales , after screaming 'stop!!!' and freaking my co-worker out I brought back to the van a horrid knockoff with hollow plastic 'stag' scales , I did attempt to sharpen it though and gave it to him , he was tickeld pink.

whatever floats your boat. :)

I think it would be awesome to find a decent knife but really the knife would have to be complete crap for me to just throw it back down like if the blades were completely broken off or there were no scales or crap like that but around here I really don't think many people cary knives, probably more than I think but you know ohwell.

I ride motorcycles which makes it easy to spot stuff in the road. Found a Buck Alpha folder in the middle of the street in front of my work. It was still in it's nylon web sheath and had obviously been run over at least once.

The rubber handle scales had been torn out from the handle screws from being run over but to my surprise the rest of the knife was undamaged. It opened and locked up just fine.

I had no interest in the knife and would have probably tossed it but a co-worker went ga-ga over it so I fixed the handles, replaced the snap on the sheath(flattened from being run over) and gave it to my very thrilled co-worker. He wore it on his belt every day after.

I've seen a couple of fixed blades in the street but I could tell from a brief glimpse that they were junk and I would have no interest in owning them so I didn't bother to stop.

Did anybody find any of the knives that I have lost??? I wont name them because its embarrassing haha. BUT seriously did you find my knives? I would like them back...just saying.

Me too...PM for list/approximate location and time of loss :(

I have found a number of random knives. Found a little Blue Case in the oil bay where I worked. Nobody claimed it, so it became mine. Found a big ass butcher knife stuck in a tree at McKinney Falls State Park on my last hike. Found a fillet knife in a car I watched drive off in the water on Lake Travis. Thinking someone was inside, I dove in...turns out it was an insurance claim thing...Found an axe laying next to a pile of deer bones at the lease...

I found a Buck Bantam behind my ex's parents house a couple years ago while we were there for thanksgiving, the blade had a couple small chips but they sharpened right out

Found an early model Spyderco Delica with a G2 blade and plastic clip buried in the sand at a shooting range. Looked like it was there for some time but its still in good shape.
