I'm asking because I don't know, could sand molds have been used, just like when casting aluminum? Or is this not possible in steel? Also, do you have any ideas why there are empty spaces in it?And thats the thing right there.....nobody is going to take the time to create a die for a single knife. If it was die forged, or even cast for that matter, there are more of these somewhere........It almost looks like it was made from an ice axe......
English isn't my native language so I don't know if I'm saying the right thing, but I'm talking about the inside of the knife. I'm not talking about the holes on it.Not a sand casting......
What do you mean by empty spaces......those are called holes are they not?
When I hit the blade and handle, I hear a sound like I'm hitting an empty object. It's like the sound is ringing. I feel like it should sound more full. It could be my delusion. You're right, I don't understand how it could have been made like this, so I doubt myself.I'm not seeing any indication that the knife is hollow, and I don't see how it could have been made that way either....Why do you think that its hollow?
Chances are its just a combination of whatever steel its made of and how it was tempered. When I hit the blade and handle, I hear a sound like I'm hitting an empty object. It's like the sound is ringing. I feel like it should sound more full. It could be my delusion. You're right, I don't understand how it could have been made like this, so I doubt myself.
