Just posted on the manufacturers sight.
The blade looks wider than the body of the knife, and the body is ginormous! That's allot of Ebony and 1095 right there! I've carried wallets that weren't that fat.

Is that ebony... blue??

I've got to see this thing closed, it does close right?

Will this be the first knife to come packaged in a PVC tube?

Looks like you might be able to play Ping-Pong
with it!...lol. :D It's pretty wide!

On my monitor the pictured knife measures almost exactly 4 3/8", the pictured blade is 3" long and 1 1/2" wide.

Amazing -I was hoping for this but didn't think there was a chance.
Certainly in for one :thumbup::thumbup:

That's based on an old Platts sunfish pattern -- ginormous hunk of knife. And yes, suspenders should be included in the package. I like the ebony and the shield and the six pins.

What an odd knife, not my speed, but you gotta hand it to GEC for inovation in design, and not just pandering to the masses, really doing something unique.

I kind of like it in the way I like all knives I find not-unattractive, but have no personal use for.
I am interested to see the Northfield treatment. Maybe a double pull, with that jigged walnut bone they used on the Sunfish? Or Stag, do they grow deer big enough for that? ;)

I know, Whale Oosik. Yeah that's the ticket!

So Awesome! I was toying with the idea of a sunfish, but man, I sure am liking this pattern. Hopefully they offer jigged bone in brown or tan!

Any idea on the price point yet? $170?

The wide blade makes it seem much bigger than it actually is. The standard GEC sunfish pattern is 4 1/4 inches long. The swell center is 4 3/8, only 1/8" longer, and its a bit wider. While not huge, it is a substantially sized knife. Its also a lot easier on the hands in use.

That will definitely be a must have for me.

In the old days, they used knives like that to cut thick rope They used to pound on the spine w/ a mallet & snip off lengths of thick rope
I'd love to see a forum member buy one & do a demo/pictorial,with one
