Incredible. Offering that steel with the known quality of a company like Spyderco at roughly the same price as a Griptilian. I think this one is going to be a game-changer.

Yes, this is long overdue.

I have some of the sprint run Para-Military 2s and a Manix 2.

I am glad to see this as a regular production model.

I understand that not everyone will like the FRN handle too.

With them starting to work with S110v on a regular basis (Native5 CF dropping soon, mule) I wouldn't be surprised if more models in their lineup including the Manix G10 and PM2 eventually get the S110v treatment also... I mean, if they are willing to put it in an FRN production model right? It's possible. Spyderco though obviously has confidence in their FRN Manix to give it this steel.

I CCW a G19 and similar handguns its size, add that in with heavy keys, moneyclip, phone, etc. and it gets cumbersome especially in 90 degree summer clothes. This knife is just what the doctor ordered. Light, thin, and covers anything I need to do with a folder. This steel upgrade completes it.

Bah getting exhausted trying to find one of these for sale. Someone put one up lol #coughemailmecough

Was that too obvious? :D

When these first came around, some people were acting all calm and relaxed because it's "not a sprint, it's production".
Well, I panicked anyway and ordered the first one I saw online.
Who's laughing now?!?! Muahahahah!

Lol nice. I was all ZT0560 but now that I've learned about this I'm wanting one bad.

Still loving my 0560, but this summer, it's all about the Manix 2 LW.
It weighs almost nothing and loves being in shorts.

Any opinions on how it compares to the ZT line?

I remember having a Millie when they first came out, after having a Police for 10 years, and loving the weight, thinness and the choil grip. I know Spyderco isn't as overbuilt heavy, but (assuming I can find one for sale) will it stand up to a beating as well?

It feels very well-built, but it's not really comparable to anything I can think of from ZT

Is this really part of Spyderco's permanent lineup? This can't be real.

Allegedly.
But as of now, it might as well be a sprint, because the first round sold out pretty quick and there don't appear to be any resupplies thus far.
Even when the next round come out, don't be shocked if they sell out even faster. This one's got a super hot reputation right now.

How do you think it would hold up to the Manix 2 g10 with s30v?

Because of its real light weight, would you have to classify it as a "light" or "medium" duty compared to the other model?

Not trying to hijack the thread just trying to decide which one to get! If the LW s110v ever becomes available again! :)

I don't have a G10 Manix 2 QUITE YET (should be getting the CRUWEAR on Wednesday), but I can say the S110V Manix 2 feels strong to me.
I'd use it for any task I'd use a PM2 for.

Don't confuse lightweight with light duty. I really really like mine. The S110v holds up amazingly well if you're not chopping down trees.

I'm a little on the fence as to getting this, a ZT0550 or a 0560.

I carried a combat folder as a LEO...for EDC and a work back up on my off gun side. Now I'm in EMS, need a tough EDC able to take a bit of a beating in general and maybe have to cut through tough material as well as still be a back up (less frequent) for getting jumped or for self defense off duty.

I know the blade steel on the Manix is super but I also am aware that overall construction on the ZT's is better. Not really into anything below S30V.
