Have you seen the Noss Video?

I seriously hope not... while that would say a lot (positive) about CRK as a company, it would be seriously unethical to intentionally destroy a knife then expect the manufacturer to replace it.

OT: I believe I saw pictures from last year's blade where ESEE replaced knives that had obviously been broken by throwing, a violation of warranty. They had the broken knives on display.

Not to be any more controversial than i have already been, but i'd lay a big chunk of money that a Busse (say the team gemini) would be quite capable of extensive prying tasks, and i know for a fact that it's a high quality slicer

I was never saying that a Green Beret isn't a good knife. I genuinely don't know enough about it to comment on that, and since many MANY people love it, i'm certain it's very good at some things

It does seem obvious that unless the knife depicted was a fluke, it's not a "hard use" knife in the way that a Busse of the same size and shape would be

I'm highly biased, and admit that. I know nothing about CRK fixed blades, and a good bit about Busse, ZT, Microtech, and Becker fixed blades having owned or used at least one of each... so of course, i am not the person to listen to when it comes to CRK fixed blades, but i do know that if 2 knives would both do the job i need equally well, and both knives cost roughly the same, i'm going to choose the one that has proven capable of taking the most abuse JUST IN CASE i need to abuse it.

Can you provide the CR description indicating the GB is meant for "Hard Use"? All i see is this on the CR website:

"This knife is known to the U.S. Army Special Forces as "The Yarborough" and to everyone else as "The Green Beret Knife". It is a no-nonsense, hardworking tool, designed by renowned knife maker and designer Bill Harsey, with function and manufacturing input from Chris Reeve. Made in Boise, Idaho by Chris Reeve Knives, the Green Beret Knife is a using knife that, just like the men for whom it was designed, is efficient, tough and uncompromising"

I have been using CRK fixed blades for longer than I have their folders and I have never had any sort of problems at all. I have been using Busse for the last couple of years and have already warped the edge quite badly on a BWM chopping green bamboo and found edge retention in general to be lacking as far as what people where saying I should expect. This whole thing about INFI is quite silly. They are just knives the same as any one makes, there is really nothing speacial about them, bar the marketing perhaps.

BePrepared, how thick is your head? numerous people have told you that these are old videos, you said you didn't know, but you have been told quite a few times, after posting from forum to forum, then you apologized for not knowing, now your posting again about it, it is quite obvious you are here to just stir things up, your agenda is flawed and so is your personality, your comments go from smart a to saying you stand corrected. the Busse basic 9 was broke in those tests also, so that will save you some time in watching that one.

He's just a troll, he knows full well those vids are years old and very well discussed......

I certainly do now... doesn't mean i won't comment on them :)

Both CRK knives broke in the same part of the test... I haven't seen any other high end knives break during or before that part of the testing, so it certainly seems trendlike

Every CRK he ever tested broke, so did every Busse. That's the point of this fools destruction tests. The knife isn't going to win.

Quite true... but every busse made it past the 2x4, through the concrete blocks, and to the cutting steel pipe.... most finally had to be put in a vice and hammered laterally to induce breaking

the CRK knives both broke very very early in the testing... earlier than any of the other knives i've seen tested, including the cold steel, Keffeler, and Glock knives.

The knives broke right about the time he was doing stupid things with the knife, a tool used for cutting.

Do you actually own or have any experience with CR fixed blade knives or are you just here to regurgitate what you heard and saw else where ? People have way more time for those that can talk for them selves out of experience rather than just coughing up some other persons opinions and views. Posting tired old videos and pretending you want to discuss them is rather transparent.......

BePrepared,

I get it, I do.....these videos are new to you, but OLD news to MANY others. To question a person's preferred knife company in their own "house/forum" is akin to questioning a persons religion or political party. Though you personally are not insulting them, people feel strongly about it. Best to just let this thread's flame die out without adding anything to it.

I think you are trying to reason with a 9 year old boy......

Best thing we can do is find his medication and give it to him ASAP.

was beginning to think something along those lines. Never really sure why folks get offended where simple discussion would be more enjoyable, but i suppose emotion wins most of the time.

I don't much have any emotional attachment to this argument, so it's just academic for me. I wouldn't care if someone did something similar in the busse or becker forms, but then, not everyone is like me

If it was simply academic for you how did you miss these videos in the first place? A blind, down syndrome primate would've seen all the threads about this noss guy by now. Maybe you need to take the advice I gave you originally, read more post less.

You care enough to start a thread and search for as well as post 2 old videos.......
