Savage,
Sorry to get a wee bit off topic, but what are your over-all impressions of the Tatang? Is the tip sturdy, considering it's double edged? Comfortable handle?

My old favourite hawk and a new knife combo I just made up. In reality the knives are for a show I have coming up but I though ya'll might like to see the set.

Best regards

Robin

Now that is just outstanding work.

Awesome looking knife! It just looks too damn pretty to use! Are his knives as 'magical' as he claims? Seriously, what are your opinions on the knife?

shiva makes a great knife he has his heat treat and edge geometry down and i really like the ones i have

These are incredible! Everything from tactical to old school cool! I wandered on here off of another forum and i'm sure glad I did. You guys have some incredible knowledge. I'm looking forward to learning a lot here.

Very nice I would like to get one of those axes.....

Thanks, I appreciate the nice comment. I like it, too. In the 'Japanese Axe' thread there was a reference to Kikori axes, but this is actually not one of those but a Tosa-Uchi Hamono. I don't know how they compare, but it's a little different from the one in that thread. I think the head weighs 2.1lbs, and it's solid White Steel, I think the Kikori that was referenced was made from damascus steel (would damascus be utilitarian - I always thought it would be more 'artful') and how those are made, I'm unsure.
