Remember’st thou my Greyhounds true?
O’er holt or hill there never flew,
From slip or leash there never sprang,
More fleet of foot, or sure of fang.
—Sir Walter Scott: Marmion: A Tale of Flodden Field
thanx, she's a looker. blue had a white patch there too (and 3 white feet) tho as a blue brindle his stripes were lighter. his lymphosarcoma was similar to leukaemia, attacking the lymphocytes rather than the leukocytes. his was unfortunately very aggressive and not treatable, other than to make him more comfortable. he was running around one day, couldn't hardly walk the next, and gone a month later - he had a few good days in between tho. some lymphomas are treatable, and you can get another year before the inevitable. anyhow, enjoy what time you have with her and spoil her rotten.

you might want to contact dr. couto or his staff at ohio state university, they have a greyhound cancer study going on and can offer free consultations and sometimes free anti-cancer meds. contact info is here at the greytalk forum (http://forum.greytalk.com), his contact details are in this post. he's a gem. you might find the forum interesting as well, from cute and funny things greyhounds do, to the medical section (try a forum search on 'leukemia' or on 'couto'), and others. you are not alone, and the forumites are very supportive. site is owned/run by a serving U.S. Coast Guard Officer & his wife, currently stationed in so. alabama.
