The sheath that comes with the Heat sucks anyway. I replaced it after one week and finally decided I would keep it in my pocket.
 
Got the knives last night....all are great !! It will be sad to see them disapear....
 
Are the scales easily removable if you unscrew everything or are they molded together in some way? At those prices they'd make nice test pieces to attempt some customization.
 
You should be able to disassemble completely by removing the screws.

Needless to say, reassemble in the open position, not closed!! That assisted opening spring will cause havoc.

Be very careful with the sharp blade, a little tape over the edge is always prudent.
 
I just received my order yesterday. Just knives rattling around in a big box with no case or anything. But, you know what? For 15 to 20 dollars apiece I'll take them wrapped in newspaper!

But man, why did some of you guys have to go and hog up all of the Heats? ;). I mean, I don't even have ONE of these knives to play with- anyone want to sell me one?
 
Well, that is close to the end for the Heat then!!

Trust me, Camillus won't be getting any more! They even screwed the Taiwanese knife maker (as well as Darrel Ralph for the knife design, & Bill Taylor for the assisted opening design, & Kershaw for the patent fight agreement.....)

I'm not kicking Camillus, I still like the company, but.....

Don’t get too teary eyed about the ROBO Assist knife. I have it from a good source that Ontario Knife Co. will be importing the same knife soon. I don't think you'll be getting them for $15 to $20 (in fact I know you'll pay more). But let’s face it this was a $70.00 retail knife when Camillus was selling them. Believe me Dealers were paying double that ($15-$20) price in 2006. I know where there are about 400 + knives in each model, they will be around for a while. Don’t for get about the dealers sitting on knives in their inventory. Allot of dealers have knives in inventory that would have to take a few big lumps if they even got rid of the knives wholesale.

It is my opinion that Ontario is waiting for the Camillus ROBO knives to dry up. Then they will introduce the Ontario ROBO Assist knife. Ontario is a First Class USA knife company. They may or may not tweak them to make them their own, we’ll see.

When they let them fly be the first on the block to get one

shipping over $100 was free, so five to six $20 knives free shipping....hard to beat.....
 
You bet $20.00 for that knife is a steal. I think those $20.00 knives were just the knife and a box no sheath. Dealers would have duked it out for a shot at those knives at that price.

Is it true that they are all gone (the $20.00 knives)?
 
I checked SMKW yesterday. Sold out across the board.
 
Guyon did you see my other post? I asked about those cool Avatar's. it looks like your the Master of them. I cant seem to make one that works. Where do you get them?

I just hit them up for two. Said they were in stock.

I almost cried when I finnished a 60mile Bicycle workout and noticed my first one wasn't in my shorts anymore. I was not really in the mood to go back over my path. So I ordered two this time.
