Heavy-Bowie, A1, BK7 or Glock (Pics)

That kabar makes me want to just pick it up and feel the balance, it just looks right to me. I like how the edge is below the handle so knuckles are out of the way, too.
The to buy list lengthens.

I've been thinking about getting the larger version off and on lately. I want to wait until the Beckers come back out but that's months away and these Ka-bars are pretty cheap. I'll either grab a little Cold Steel Trailhawk to modify and fiddle with, or the bowie.

Hah!

Put yourself in this situation: alone in the woods...need a knife that does chopping, serves self defense functions, whittles...which of your knives fit that bill the best? In my mind the F1, BK7 and KaBar all get the call.

Then it comes to what fits best in the hand...for me out of those the Becker! Have fun and use the hell out of them.

I have a Ka-Bar Large Heavy Bowie and have had to use it as a chopper. Just after I bought it, I was off road in my truck and came to a place where a tree had fallen across the road. I used it to chop through the top to make a hole large enough to drive my truck through. Some of the stuff was over 6 in. in diameter. It worked surprising well even without battoning. I was fenced on both sides so going around was not an option.

¡Lucky you having that blade in the trunk!

I watched the destruction test of the F1... and I have read quite a lot of times that the F1 is not a good chopper but surprisingly it is one of the first knives recommended when someone asks about a good survival knife. Somehow I feel that a full flat grind (or high saber grind) works better for chopping and battoning (correct me if wrong) and I think that the F1 might be a little on the light side as well. What am I missing here?

I am planning on getting one or two more blades, probably a mid sized one like a RAT7 or RD7 and a small one like a RAT3 or F1 (I like better the F1 for a small blade). Should I consider the F1 as well?

hey guys, gotta say the BK7 would be my choice. Great knife works great, I've taken down some big pieces of wood before.

The Fallknivens in general are some of the nicest/most useful looking designs around! Haven't heard anybody say anything bad about them.
And Noss's destruction of the Fallkniven was very impressive, thats one tough knife!
I'm definitely going to buy one of their blade blanks and put a custom handle on it.
The Kabars look good as well and are very reasonably priced.
But I really want a Becker Campanion as well, hopefully the Beckers will be in production again soon!

Of all the knives I've shown above, the Fällkniven is the oldest one.
I bought it in 2001, so it's still the VG10 monosteel version with the kydex sheath.
AND IT IS STILL MY FAVORITE KNIFE
