Grab a tango or insingo Sm. Sebenza and have a pimper dick it up with serrations.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).

Why would you specify a "heavy duty" folder only to limit it to a blade less than 3 inches?
Kinda like needing a "high speed" dragster, "less than 100 horsepower" please.
I get that there are length limits in places... but realize that they translate to capability limits sometimes.
I ve never had one fail either. I consider a full size Grip hard use. Don t know about the mini, but it s probably competitive with any sub 3" blade in toughness. If you go to the Benchmade Custom Shop you can order a mini Grip with a Tanto, part-serrated blade in a variety of steels. You can also select G10 handles in a variety of textures.
I know the Grip isn't considered a "hard use" knife, but I've never had one fail on me and it meets all your requirements.
Good luck!
So buy this and have a Maker here add some serrations.Thank you for the suggestion, however partially serrated is a necessity for me personally.
Well, I specified what I was looking for, Just because the guy that gets his new Italian sports car seats made with unborn lizard foreskins does not mean it isn't what he wants..
GMUGNIER, head over to the custom knife section of this forum.
Toss out your specs and your budget. You'll find somebody who will build you what your need.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I have had the Mini CQC-7, but it didn't hold up very well. Additionally Emerson stopped making the blades minus the wave feature, which has ruined many pairs of my pants.
I would agree with this. I did the custom configuration deal and made a mini Grip with a CPM M4 blade. Tough little knife. I plan to get a 20CV version soon.If you go to the Benchmade Custom Shop you can order a mini Grip with a Tanto, part-serrated blade in a variety of steels. You can also select G10 handles in a variety of textures.

Yes, thanks for suggesting that. You are correct about the ease of "grinding" off the wave hook, however i had previously considered this to be an option but according to numerous people at Emerson, the "grinding" or alteration of a blade from it's factory manufactured state completely voids any and all warranties. Additionally - i was quite surprised by how easily the Emerson mini - really didn't hold up as well as a 960 Benchmade, so i thusly decided to try another brand altogether, which is why i am here asking the masses for opinions..Removing a wave hook takes only a few minutes on the belt grinder
