Heavy Duty Spyderco w/ 3" Blade ?

Mini Manix is the leader here.

D'allara Drop Point is pretty sturdy... Poliwog doesn't count. (sorry Sharpy_swe )

The 'Lil Temp is out of production but that is a sturdy 3" blade on that folder. It is also a chunk of a knife but it carried well in the pocket. Maybe you could skor one here on BF.

I don't know my Spydercos too well, I might start getting into them though, but I was wondering, would the Delica 4 fit into the Heavy Duty category? It might not, because to me it looks hollow ground, but just wondeirng.

Nuther vote for the D'Allara. Tis my main work knife, and it is holding up well. Very acute edge, thanks to the generous hollow grind...you can take it way past sharp enough for normal knife chores, if you think that is necessary. Stainless steel liners and a full length stainless steel backspacer, so it's stiff enough as long as you don't use it to pry the lid off your septic tank, or some such thing. The ball lock is hugely strong...the only way to fold this blade onto your fingers is to break the blade tang, break the backspacer...or squash the ball bearing.

And the ergonomics are to die for.

i mentioned it on page one of the thread. it's plenty strong with its backlock, nested liners, and the saber grind which means more steel behind the bevel, thus more strength. the weak points of any folder are in the moving parts and i find it hard to imagine that sal would put less into the construction of his core product.
