The demand for an overfed, Heavy Ordnance Grade (HOG) Basic 8 (B8) has been fueled for years through an ongoing thread of well over 10,500 posts on the Busse Combat Forum on Bladeforums.

The biggest problem with this request is that our large Basic style Resiprene C handles were designed around a .235" thick tang! This restriction made stuffing a .350" thick tang into them impossible. We couldn't just make a thicker tang because it would, in turn, make the sidewalls of the Resiprene C handle drastically thinner.

So, we solved the problem by milling the tang down to fit the slot. A radius at the front of the tang maintains the integrity of the blade/tang juncture while lightening the handle and overall weight of the HOGB8.

The standard HOGB8 is pretty much the same pattern as the previous Basic 8 with a slight modification in handle drop to edge angle. . . However, we will, for the first time ever, be offering some optional blade profiles that will be available at the time of purchase through the Busse Custom Shop!!! These will include a long straight clip (Similar to the War Feather) and a lowered drop point (Similar to the SH2). We will also be offering an optional penetrator tip on all three blade profiles!!!

Thick blade / thin tang is going to be very forward-heavy. Sounds like a great chopper!

Will this handle be a bit larger in diameter or the same as basic 8? Thanks again.
Edit. Reread bosses post!

Think I'm in for two. One satin long clip point , and one regular satin penetrating tip! Ouch! This is AWESOME!!

Sounds like it will be the same as the standard Basic handles (underlined):
