Heavy Ordnance Grade Basic 8 . . . HOGB8 . . . Specs, Pricing, & Pics!!!

I just hope the wait will be closer to 6 weeks, than to 32 weeks lol who am I kidding, we waited this long, whats another 32 weeks ? lol

I went the cheap route. Standard in Midnight. If I can sell a few, a DC long clip will be mine too.

I'm going to have a full on anxiety tack trying to pick between the drop point and the war feather. What advantages do both offer? (sorry if this has been covered before...a very quick overview would even gon a long way)

Hopefully I dream about it and that will help make my decision easier. Better get another drink!

It's really a bit of an unknown at this point with the hogb8 being a new model-- and a pretty radical new model, at that!-- but a drop point brings the tip more in line with the centerline of the blade and therefore more aligned with your hand = more control for tip work and more force behind stabbing plunges.

Will's War Feather changed the balance point of the B8LE closer to the hand which also equates into more control and what users refer to as "light in hand." It also effectively drops the tip closer to the center line.

A standard drop point would keep the balance point a bit more fore-ward, and perhaps make it a little more effective chopping--and at the same time lowering the tip to that all important <to some users> centerline. Hope this helps and is not too convoluted!

Also check out Will's post #49 in this thread...enjoy!

Res-C tends to cut in line. I wouldn't be surprised to see these come in before Park Rangers and Flak Jacks.

Thanks for your response! My entire thought process is complicated, so your technical input was insightful. The WF obviously is a 10/10 in the looks department, however I find the drop point to be only slightly less sexy. My concern is sacrificing functionality for looks. I plan on this being my first "big" user after giving up on a re-release of a sarsquatch, and plan on primarily using it for delimbing branches and splitting wood for kindling. You know, typical camp stuff.

Maybe I'll stop drinking and start selling plasma again lol. Got me groceries through college, now it can help feed the INFIdiction

Satin with long straight clip. 4th Busse and kin in the last 2 months. Time to take out that second on the house.

Stump the War Feathers are going fast...I really don't mind...I've got my order in already!

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm sure he has time to order one.;)

THANKS PTPO!!! Tom was right, I just ordered my two War Feathers (one BIGDC & one CG Sage) on the Home Commander's laptop, so I think I'm GOOD to GO!!!;)

THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE THIS HAPPEN... I can't believe we're actually here!!!

In for DC, long straight clip, and penetrator tip. This might be the closest I get to a FFG Infi Regulator ever.... I think I already said that with the Dog Soldier :D:thumbsup:

War feather with BIG DC here. That BIG DC is quickly becoming my go-to finish. It looks good to begin with, plus I picked up a BIG finish INFIdu last week and it's freaking gorgeous. I figure that if I start stripping I should be quite happy with what I find beneath.

Dammit! Unable to order as I had surgery today and am currently lying in a hospital bed. My wife is at home with my wallet, so I can’t order under the cover of night.

At least my six-month nightmare is over though.

I wish it had the Regulator handle they absorb vibrations much better. I went with the same setup but the poor mans DC (hammered silver)

Can't order. PayPal express checkout popup closes after a moment..
Wanted a CG long straight clip in black.
Oh the agony!

Whadda ya want? I'll order it, and if you don't reclaim it somewhere on sown the line, I'll have a backup. Just need to make sure the shop knows to apply your credit.
