Heckler & Koch's new HK45

The HK45 was a Christmas gift from my parents, so no bank account recovery was necessary.

I have a well used SIG 229 (40) that has a trigger that is like butter! Smooth, even and predictable. I got it reciently and love it!

FWIW--- I sold my H&K P9s For a Glock 17. No regrets. I kept the H&K 93-A2 rifle, though. That rifle is a keeper! What's the WORD on the .45 GAP? Happy Holidays!

GREEN MACHEEN!

The 45 GAP was another solution to a problem that didn't exist. I'm fairly certain it will go away down the road. Springfield basically wrote it off once they chambered their XD in 45 ACP. Don't recall selling an XD in 45 GAP since the introduction of the XD in 45 ACP.

I never understood the .45 GAP. So, it was a bad move on Glock? After all these years and calibers, I still side with the 9mm. Now I need to skor my first Busse. I think Ill go with the Badger Attack- Red G-10! HH to all!
Lycosa
Maybe GREEN G-10!

Lunde,

I had the Mk 1 trigger in my USP and used it happily for years, but a friend convinced me that the consistent trigger pull (something like 4.5 lbs and crisp!) would compensate for loosing the super single action pull.

It took about 2000 (roughly 2 weeks at that time) rounds to get "married" to it but I noticed a HUGE improvement in feel and shot to shot consistency. (Yup, it felt more than a little weird at first.) I've never tried the P2000....

Now of course, I'm wondering how I get family to get me such nice gifts:confused:

I took some quickie snapshots of my latest pistol the other day, specifically Heckler & Koch's new HK45. I don't think that I posted them here yet, and someone sent me a PM a week or two ago requesting that I do so.

Guilty as charged! Already Right Click saved as over at HKPro. :D

Awesome pictures as usual! Love mine!

Nice. Made at the Alabama plant?
Nope. It's 100% German-made. The proofmarks and datecode clearly indicate this:

Cool. I thought the frame might have been. On the serial number plate in front of the trigger guard is where it usually states this. I like it. I will have to give it a look at the next show I go to. Thanks for the pics Brother.

Agreed. I like my Glocks, and I shoot them well, but I wouldn't trade one of my HK P9Ses for one. Here is my pair of HK P9S Combats, in 9mm and .45 Auto, wearing Nill grips:

Ken, that .45 is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! and one of my son in laws is looking for a new .45, I'll recommend that one, I like it all dressed out.

GREAT pics of the P9's!! Great pistols too. Thanks for the response. In my quest for ONE pistol, ONE rifle, I picked the Glock 17. Here's the thing: someone is tickled pink with the purchase of my P9s! Now, which Busse? Let's see if I can stop at ONE?!

I wonder how long it will be before HK will produce the HK45 with left-hand (Variant 2) controls.

Z51,
That might be awhile. But ya never know! And I must clarify; I TRADED my P9s for the Glock 17. $75 got me a brand new Glock 17. I know you P9 nuts are still shake'n yer heads. I understand! I understand!

I don't think you made a bad choice. But shouldn't it have been an even trade or you the one getting a little extra cash?

CF,
That was a HARD decision, but I really made out on that deal. The P9s and the Glock-17 are outstanding pistols. The Glock won out by a hair. I love this pistol!
Merry Christmas!

Update. I fired my HK45 for the first time last Tuesday evening. "I am in love" is the best way to describe the experience. The HK45 has the best trigger among my hammer-fired HKs, including a shorter-than-usual trigger reset. Ergonomics are outstanding, which are evident from mere fondling, and confirmed by shooting. It is also soft-shooting compared to comarable 1911s that weigh a good deal more. If anyone is on the fence about the HK45, it's time to get off of it. The HK45 is an outstanding .45 Auto pistol.
