Hell Razor 2 With A One-Time-Only Special Offer! ...Coming This Wed. 5/20/2020 At 9:00 PM Eastern!!!

Thanks guys,
That's what I was worried about, the HR2 looks like the blade height would be pretty close to the 1 3/4" max of the Spec-ops sheath, I know the plastic insert can be heated and formed to the blade, but with the thickness of the HR2, if the blade is right at 1 3/4" +/-, it might be too close.
I do like the variations available from Buy Brown, though kydex will scratch up the finish, mine will be a user anyway.
The thing I like about the Spec-ops style of sheath is the flexibility, both in carrying and mounting, and the pouch on the front is a nice option for carrying a stone, fire steel etc...
I've also considered leather, like the sheaths available from Savage or Patriot Leather but was thinking of going with more of a tactical style for this beauty.

Yeah, it's really close. My guess is if you flatten out the edge-side of the plastic insert, you *might* be able to make it fit. Alternatively, I wonder if one can shave off the spine-side of the insert to make a "taco", just so the edge won't cut the sheath. The insert will still hold in place due to the Velcro, and the knife would be retained by the retention strap.

Interesting, I had not considered that, as long as there is enough room in the nylon surrounding the plastic insert, that could work, but if the spine on the HR2 is too sharp on the edges, it could wear through the nylon of the sheath.

i doubt the spine of the HR2 will be sharp enough to cut the nylon. The spine of my HR2 Comp from the previous run is not rounded, but it is far from sharp. I would suggest you not do anything to your Spec Ops sheath until you receive the HR2. I got two of the BGHR that were released in OP2WP1. One of those fits a Spec Ops sheath fine, the other (in the same sheath) does not. It ALMOST is there. But won't. There apparently was just enough sharpening on the one BGHR that the edge to spine was OK. I haven't bothered mic'ing the two BGHRs, but just looking at them, you can't see a bit of difference. Well, except one is a black blade and the other is sage. :D

Good advice,
I haven't purchased the Spec-ops yet, I considered getting it so I had protection for my HR2 when it arrives, but I can't see spending the $60 bucks if it won't fit.
Maybe I'll just wait or order a Buy Brown with a dangler and find a pouch to mount to the kydex.

With the plastic insert from the factory, the HR2 JUST won't fit. I took the insert it and three knife will "fit" with a little room to spare for an insert or something to keep it from cutting the sheath body.
Perhaps if you worked at flattening the factory insert to accommodate for the knife's height (spine to edge, just needs a few mm's) or get a custom insert, it might work. But by the time you get a spec ops and a custom insert, you'd be paying more than a custom kydex sheath anyways... That why I didn't go that route.... I do have an extra Spec Ops in the drawer somewhere, so when mine arrives I'll try re-forming that plastic to see if it'll work.
You can remove the factory insert and cut it down it’s spine. Making the insert a taco will make extra space. Protecting the edge of the knife and leaving the spine side open.

That's exactly what I proposed in post #64... Are you confirming this works? That'd be cool!

Oh crap.... that's earlier than I thought. And the same color scheme as mine.

Oh no. Guess I'll also have to get a sheath for it.

I like this idea :)
