Greetings from Alaska

Although I joined Blade Forums over a year ago I have been content to sit back, study and soak it in until know.

I have been an avid knife user as long as I can remember and have a large and varied collection, but had never really been around Busse knives until my son discovered them (and Scrappers and Rats).

I have been getting my Busse fix vicariously through my son's purchases, but he finally shamed me into dropping the hammer on my own hunk of INFI steel by rubbing his Bushwackers, Basic 11s and other Busse Beauties under my nose.

I ordered a Jungle Green and black Micarta Bushwacker direct from the Busse website and then called a couple days later and talked to Lexie to confirm the order (she is a sweetheart, although you all know that already).

Then my son called Amy O later in the day and piggybacked another Bushwacker for himself on the same order (on the old man's VISA card).

Ahh, the joys of children.

Now I just have to sit back and be patient for about 2 months (it hurts).

I have also talked to the good folks at Lost Mountain and will be ordering a Foot Long to go with my new score.

Thanks for listening and I look forward to being a member of this fine group of maniacs.

Welcome bro! You will find both INFI fanatics and good people here. Enjoy a thicker wallet while you can...;)

Welcome Dad and I apologize for the money you are about to spend. Lucky for you Swamp Rat is about to announce a new blade!

Get some collection pics posted, I am sure you have some that are rarities.

Thanks for everything,
Zachary

Ahhhh, the depths of hog treachery, I love it. Observe and learn

Welcome to the forum !

From SE AK, a big hello and thanks for coming out of lurk mode. One of these days I will make it up North and I'm hoping to get a few HOGS together for meet and greet.

One thing I've found helps to pass the wait on one blade is to buy another off the exchange. Just a helpful hint.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

I have decided to pass the two month wait for my knife by trying to learn all the Busse model acronyms.....

Holy Cow!!

Sorry...strike that...

Holy Pig!!

How do you keep it all straight?

My head is swimming

Maybe a quick BLT with extra B will put me in the right frame of mind

Michael

Welcome.

Bad form for the son to piggy back a Bushwacker on your card. Any son worth his salt should have piggy backed a KZII!!

Lucky I don't know what that model acronym stands for or I would probably have a heart attack.

Thanks for the welcome and quit giving my son ideas! :D

Well, if you must know ;), the KZII stands for Killa Zilla II, it's the massive kukri on Busse's site right now.

It is a current offering at Bussecombat.com

The Killa Zilla II, 2nd version of the Infi Khukri!!!!!!!

Here is a photo. The first one I found in the search. This is one taken by Jaxx, hope he does not mind about the pilfering.

I wish I could get my dad on board for some Infi. He just shakes his head. He will go lay out thousands on a gun, then scope it, and then have a gun smith smooth the action and trigger job. But spending 300 to 400 on a knife just blows his mind.

Sweet knife!

Fortunately (or un-fortunately, depending on your viewpoint) my son learned at least one valuable and important life lesson from me.

Always buy the best you can afford....we are too poor to do it twice!

My dad taught me that lesson and it has served me well. Since I started working at age 14, coincidentally the same age my son started making his own money, I cant think of anything in the sporting goods world that I have ever cheaped out on. Consequently, I still have most of the gear I have accumulated in the 40 years since (I am 54), a lot of it despite hard use. Some has worn out and been replaced, but I can't think of anything that failed because I tried to save a buck.

My wife will replace something 7 times because she buys cheap junk, and ends up spending twice as much as she would have doing it right the first time.

$347.00 for the Bushwacker is not cheap by any means, but considering the warranty and the longevity of Busse knives it is a bargain.

RUN AWAY

Run as fast as you can before it's tooooooooo late.

Just kidding, welcome to the best group of INFI loving HOGS in the universe.
There's a bunch of us up here so if you need anything just ask.

Something I try to explain to my wife time and again.

The tent I wanted to buy for the family was 1/2 off on sale for something like $240. Wife choked. We are on our 2nd tent (each about 100), and the first rain we experienced, tent is leaking on our heads, even with a rain cover!

I did convince her to get some nicer Danner Gortex hiking boots. But I am still trying to explain why a nicer pack is worth the money.

Maybe I can convince her now.

Haha! ...Ya beat me to it!! ;) No worries, brother!

brownfam, WELCOME to the Forum and to the mad, mad, mad world of Busse Combat and the INFI addiction that will surely follow!! :D That Bushwhacker is a great start, and I think that you both will love it. Now, snag the son's credit card and get yourself another Busse...One good turn deserves another, yes? ;) :D:D

We'll be looking forward to pix of these BWM's (Bushwhacker Mistresses) getting "well loved" in the beautiful Alaskan wilderness once they arrive!
