Hello from the 0

I know your struggles, Amy, as I have dealt with nearly identical issues. The biggest thing to remember, is you have to take care of you first.

The support you have with your family, work family, and us, will keep you going only so far. You HAVE to make sure YOU are well.

We love ya, take your time, you're worth it.

Hugs and kisses to you, Amy! Good vibes/thoughts/prayers sent for a full speedy recovery for your folks!! <3

Amy, great to hear that things are on the improve. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you to deal with this !!! we ALL here can see plainly where your head and heart are, your parents obviously raised you properly and instilled that sense of loyalty and care, they are reaping the rewards of this now. What has been said above and I can only reiterate is, don't loose sight of taking care of yourself during these times !!!

Cheers.

Andy

Just wanted to say Hi. Things in our LIFE (My crazy life) has been NUTTY. I apologize so very much that I have not been at work but I am hoping (fingers and toes crossed) that I will get to return to work maybe next week. My father had some major issues...it has been tough. Remember All, My Mom had double bypass for her heart in December. Dad has colon cancer (TOOK 14 inches of his colon out to get that damn tumor out him) but lymph nodes and everything is good for now. Some appts next week but I looked at both my parents and said " WOW you guys are old, did a lot of surgeries and you both are doing ok" My Father looked at me and said the EXACT words I spoke to him a month ago. "If you are ready to quit fighting I got your back but PLEASE always try"
My Dad and Mom are at home and doing well, this is actually the first night I am calm, I actually asked for HELP (I know right? CrazY) for food, the numerous dr. visits (Some I need to go to because they super important) also my own nervous breakdown J/K(A girl of 46 years of age can only watch too much of Murder she Wrote, Blue Bloods and every single MATLOCK episode before she loses what mind she has left LOL) Thru all of this I have family. When I say family I say Busse. Jerry and Jennifer always answered my late night sleep deprived calls. Often I made no sense and just cried, actually the whole entire crew at Busse, always have my back LOVE YOU GUYS AND GALS. I just want everyone to know LIFE is a PAIN in the butt at times but it is rare to have a job that "cares about you, your family and your overall well being" I am so blessed to have ALL OF THAT. See ya soon. XOXO

Hey Zero!

I'm ALWAYS here if you need a shoulder. Feel free to call anytime, if you need.

Tell your dad to NEVER give up. A guy I literally work side.by side with has stage 4 colon cancer, metastasized to his liver. He was recently declared cancer free. I will believe til the day I die that his fight on til the end spirit and positive attitude made a world of difference.

There's a bunch of us here for you if you need an ear to listen or shoulder on which to cry. We hogs may be a.grumbly lot, but we look out for our own.

Especially the zero.

A big ROLL TIDE,
-Chris

Hello right back Amy-0

Do what you gotta do to get by, and take care of your family. No worries, and no one begrudges...

Amy, I'm glad things are stabilizing for you. As others have said, be sure to take good care of yourself. I will continue to pray for you and your parents.

Do what you have to do, even if it means asking the excellent people around you for help and don’t be hard on yourself for doing so!

Sending positive vibes your way!!!

I know where you're coming from. My wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer a year and a half ago. Double mastectomy, chemo, radiation, reconstructive surgery. Clean bill of health so far. And my 94 year old father lives with us. Being a caretaker can be really stressful! Glad to hear you asked for help and got it. If it hadn't been for friends and family helping with meals and Dr's appointments, etc, my head would have exploded! Adding my prayers for you as well.

Best to you Amy.

Tell your Dad to take vitamin D3 -- prevents colon and other cancers, per my epidemiologist cousin Cedric Garland at UC San Diego Medical School. Google his name or give me a call for more info -- really exciting research that will likely make a difference for a lot of people.

View attachment 890439 Keep fighting the good fight Amy! We all love you and are praying for you and your family.

This is very well done - the picture and the quote...

Amy - personally, I had to learn to take help the hard way with my own alcoholism and through my wife's battle with cancer and all the other 'zillion life things that happen as well that you mention - usually people are waiting patiently (some not so patiently) for you to ask!

Glad for the note, and thanks for being kind and open enough to share with those of us here. I too, pray for you and yours. My granddad (Navy SeeBea WWII) used to pray this simple prayer over every meal, and I have adapted it just a little and have made it part of my morning prayers as well as with meals: "Bless this food to our use, and us to Thy service and be with those in need of Thy help we pray, amen." It was so simple and powerful and practical as a kid when taken at face value, and it was not up until the last few years did I become fully aware of its vastness of coverage if prayed with intent and understanding of its power. I often forget the power of Faith even though I think I try so hard not to do so...

Also - I cannot echo enough how awesome it is to be employed by those who care about you first. I changed jobs because of it; it is a benefit that is worth more than anything that can be summed up on a pay stub...

And thank you for all the kindness you showed me publicly and privately diring my wife's battle, and in one very particular knife delivery with simple, meaningful and kind words from the Krewe.

Amy: Kim wrote you a reply. Unfortunately it got erased before she could send it. She spoke of how good God is and that he doesn't put on us what we can't handle. (She of all people ought to know.) She said that when she got to crying she would look in the mirror, think that she doesn't look like she feels a bad as she really does. She says she makes faces trying to reflect how bad she feels and then starts laughing about how ridiculous she looks.
Says she is praying for you and your parents. I personally know of no one in the world that I would want praying for me more than Kim, but I will also.

Her version was better, more funny, and full of misspelled words and typos, the essence of Kim. I regret that we lost it.
