I held off for a long time on the 5, but now I have one. It's a hell of a blade. Not a 9, or 4, but a hell of a blade. ;)

Cliching was a way of etching the blade. Clich didn't invent it but he made it popular here and taught us all how to do it.

He actually didn't want it named after him, humble guy. But some of us jerks insisted. :D So it stuck.


I have this BK14 that was cliched by the man himself.

Obviously the middle one.

Yeah I don't know exactly how the cliching it thing came about. I merely followed other people's instructions. Maybe because I did it to every high carbon knife I owned. I still can't believe it's still a thing. Everyone I showed off I called it a blue bleach etch and yet the hooligans continued with the clich thing.

Thanks for the pic Mauser. I lost all of mine. I can still find some on Google Image if I search clich becker but most are low res due to them being deleted fromy wherever I stored them

This is my all time favorite that the clichster did. Always reminded me of snake skin. Then he had to go and screw up the handle though, haha. :D

So true. Should've just stuck to etching. Handles were def not my thing. Lol. That was a a heartbreaker

Clich, I think you left around the time I got here. I knew who you were from pulling up old threads. Ethan spoke of you once outside the forum at a gathering, and I had seen some of the stuff you did so I knew who he was talking about. High praise from the Man himself. Actually I read your last few post from some years ago and it seemed weird how you just left. I thought maybe you got sent up the river for something, lol. Just kidding.

Haha no no prison time. We'll sorta. Marriage. No personal stuff just couldn't let a hobby interfere. Good now though. Have been for quite sometime.
