Hello Knife Fans! New Member Intro

This is my collection of knives. I'm a still newbie in this awesome world of fine blades & knives.
Personally I do not find serrated knives to be practical, so my blades are plain edge. If I want a saw, I will take a saw with me, but having a serrated blade just does not feel practical to me. Takes away the knife fun out of the knife blade, my personal opinion. Since I'm an average height skinny guy, I like my blades to be 4 inches or close to 4 inches, minimum 3.6, since if I go to the outdoors or hunting, I prefer these knives over bigger hunting ones and 3.6 to 4 inches just feels as the most practical blade in my hands for any type of universal use whether I am skinning an animal or working with wood pieces or cutting cardboard boxes, all is fine.

Unfortunately having hard time finding how to attach my JPG image files to this post :-/

Welcome. Many posters on BF agree with you re blade length for a EDC/utility knife. I am one. Below are three of my folders.

Here's my collection, my children :)

I love made in USA knives. I like them close to 4 inches, it feels like a practical knife. That's why I would never buy a Victorinox knife. If I want scissors I will carry scissors, if I need a nail polisher or clip I can have those as well, but I don't need them on a knife, it just takes the whole fun and the whole idea of knife from the knife, it takes the heart and soul out of the blade. So that's why I stick to the non-serrated plain edge blades. My knives feel so comfortable in my hand that I feel it is like an extension of my arm, extension of my hand, that's what I call my knife. The knife that matches my needs, wants and passes the practicality test and just feels awesome in the hand.

What do you think? Do you think Lionsteel SR11 Blade of the year 2017 (with slipner blade) would be a good addition to the collection :)

I like the variety, you could look into adding a Spyderco with a compression lock into the mix. (Para 2, Kapara, Amalgam just to name a few) It's a pretty good lock and worth trying.
And you should try a Reate, either one of the K-Series, JACK or Crossroads I can recommened without hesitation, not made in America but examples of excellent Chinese knives without any of the possible baggage.

Thank you I'll definitely look into that. I am still very skeptical about made in China brand knives, since I have never owned it or even held it in my hand, however considering your opinion and recommendation I might test try something in near future. The only closet I have come to the made in China brand is my new addition Spyderco Euroedge ethnic series made in Taiwan.

Just got this baby and can't believe how much I enjoy this dagger like design made in Taiwan. Looks and feels just perfect. However I am still a bit sad Spyderco would manufacture such a masterpiece outside the USA

Welcome and excellent collection thus far...enjoy the journey!
Keep 'em sharp!

Welcome. Wishing the best re cancer recovery.

Nice knives you've got there. Careful you don't break yourself. You won't hear it often here, but it needs to be said now and then.

We buy these high end knives that can take anything, then baby them.

Very grateful for the warm welcome :) I'm super-careful, these knives are spiritual friends.

Welcome to the fray. Zip-tie your wallet closed...NOW!

Thank you :) Great Point!

Although I do try to stay within my $200-$300 budget. But some amazing designs you just can't resist. Benchmade Infidel 3300 is on my new "must have" list and that baby retails around $400-$450... Some others are just way out of my range unfortunately for now.
