Hello Knife Fans! New Member Intro

Thank you :) Great Point!

Although I do try to stay within my $200-$300 budget. But some amazing designs you just can't resist. Benchmade Infidel 3300 is on my new "must have" list and that baby retails around $400-$450... Some others are just way out of my range unfortunately for now.

Keep a check on the exchange here, you can find some good deals sometimes, but you gotta be fast!

Whatever you do Don't listen to 91bravo! Take one of those excellent knives and cut that zip tie off and have some fun. If your trying to stay in the $150 to $ 200 dollar range then you really must sample some of the awesome chinese makers. China has really stepped up their game and are producing some real Gems and their craftsmanship simply can't be denied. Trying not to sound like a shil but take a look at the Massdrop site and click on the Laconico Keen spear point for $139. It is an excellent example of what I'm talking about:thumbsup:. It's not like your supporting communism if you buy a couple of knifes from reputable dealers as some would have you believe. Massdrop is one of them. BTW Very nice collection.

Here's my collection, my children :)

I love made in USA knives. I like them close to 4 inches, it feels like a practical knife. That's why I would never buy a Victorinox knife. If I want scissors I will carry scissors, if I need a nail polisher or clip I can have those as well, but I don't need them on a knife, it just takes the whole fun and the whole idea of knife from the knife, it takes the heart and soul out of the blade. So that's why I stick to the non-serrated plain edge blades. My knives feel so comfortable in my hand that I feel it is like an extension of my arm, extension of my hand, that's what I call my knife. The knife that matches my needs, wants and passes the practicality test and just feels awesome in the hand.

What do you think? Do you think Lionsteel SR11 Blade of the year 2017 (with slipner blade) would be a good addition to the collection :)

Zero Tolerance 0562CF 3.6 inch with CPM 20CV blade
Spyderco Military 4 inch with CPM S110V
Kershaw Leek Onion Design w/ 14C28N blade
Benchmade Barrage 581 3,6 inch with M390

Microtech Tradoon 4 inch with Elmax
Hogue X5 4 inch with CPM154
Microtech Socom Elite 4 inch with M390

Wow! Now this is how to introduce yourself to the forum. Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

Well, now I don't feel so bad about myself. During the last 8 weeks, I've picked-up a Benchmade 580, Microtech Socom Elite 160-1, Guardian Tactical Helix Nano and a Fox FKMD FX-516 ASO. Thursday night I ordered a Bastinelli/Lion Steel RED folder and this morning I went over to my local knife store and put 50% down on a CRK Large Sebenza 21. LOL The addiction is quite real! I think what really got me going, though, was 'Forged In Fire' on the History Channel (love it) and a genuine need to upgrade from the 46 year-old Buck 112 my dad gave me for my 12th birthday. I'm also a little burned-out on guns and dealing with shady FFL's all the time so knives, for me, satisfy the urge to collect, admire and appreciate what I believe is a form of art.

Again, it's nice to know that I'm not alone!

Within $200-$300 I did buy few awesome made in USA knives: ZT, Spyderco, Benchmade. I think Microtech ones cost around $500 ; Tony Marfione likes his knives expensive :) And that's why so far I've been staying away (other than new Spyderco Euoedge addition) from the Chinese makers, if I pay the same amount for Made in USA, paying the same $200-$300 for made in China knife, I just have hard time committing myself so far. Do love those Kizer designs though

I've bought a pretty good variety of knives from US companies (ZT, Spyderco, Benchmade, Hogue, G&G Hawk, Olamic, etc...) but there is some real quality to be had from companies like Reate, WE, and Kizer.

Welcome. Two things: Have all future income placed in a trust that is handled by a person who is not knife-addicted. While we’re all free to make purchasing decisions based on whatever criteria we want (including political), please inform your Trustee that country of origin is no longer valid shorthand for quality.

Again, welcome.
