Poll, as in the spike end? I have always heard the hammer end of the ax being called the poll. I'll try and get some more photos for you.

Course Daisy Dukes looked a little nicer on Jessica but I don't want ndog to get a inferiority complex and end up curled up the floor sucking his thumb. I've been there, it's not pretty. I was just there about half an hour ago when I saw the double photo spread of Bura and CVSA, wasn't pretty then either, real complex.

Yep its a Darb. Its supposed to be 75 cm but the one I got is only 60cm?
I gotta write him back and see what the heck happened? I think he just sent me the wrong blade. Man yours is nice. I was thinking doing a wrap like that. Maybe Katana wrap with some black leather underneath. I really dont want to send it back so If I can make a deal with him ill just buy another. It took a month to get it.
Theres that funky arse ruler again Joe. Nope no more daisy duke photos of me. Trust me you dont want to see that!

He did the cord wrap on mine. What you see is how it came. He did a good job of it but I'm contemplating putting some wood on instead. The blade's got a real nice taper to it and very heavy. Very sharp too!

Its for measuring them blades from Thialand. You dont have to do no conversions and stuff. I think they used a bananna and divided it into 10 units. Voila! So three Bawannas...I mean bannanas =1 meter!

My wife made them pants. He aint supposed to lick em so we had to put some pants on him. We tried one of them "E-collars" (plastic funnel) but he tore up the dang house and and kept me up all night so the pants seem to be working. Look pretty good on him eh? Wife even cut a tail hole. Pretty funny when hes happy

I love the natural color of that stuff.
I've seen a few other foxys with the traditional hilt. I think Bawanna's has it. I've also seen the other ones with the modern sheath and handle shape.

Wow I take a nap and this thread gets busy. Yes by poll I meant the back side of the head of the axe. As far as I can figure out, it is still called a poll even if it is a spike or something. But I am certainly willing to be corrected by someone that knows better if there is something else it should be called if it isn't flat like a hammer. Heck I used to just call it the backside of the head, until someone kept correcting me.
Micarta is one of those things people either love or hate. I personally just don't seem to like it. I think wood is beautiful and there are so many variations in wood. I think what ruined my opinion about Micarta was the way so many folks seemed to use multiple colors and get it all swirly like. The natural linen look is a lot cleaner and I don't seem to dislike that as much as the other stuff, heck I wouldn't even get rid of a knife just because it had it on it, that is how much I like the natural linen better than the multi colored stuff. Picky beast ain't I? LOL.

Ndog- that darb would look (and feel) good with a nice epoxy-soaked 550 battlewrap-feels good, doesn't get slippery and the last time I had to get one off I just used the bandsaw.
Shav- I love the look of wood too-but the micarta just lasts forever, and doesn't get weird in lousy weather.
Dirtbiker got the last o the old batch, which had a much finer weave in the cloth.
