Help design our new fillet knife!

Here is a quick peak at what the latest prototypes look like! Scales are blue G10 because we happened to have some extra laying around. It isn't super visible in the photos but there is a fish scale pattern milled into the scales for grip and aesthetics. Steel is CPM S35VN. Five of them are about to go in the oven! More photos after HT

Do you guys think a belt loop is necessary on a fillet knife sheath? I've never carried a fillet knife on my belt, do any of you?

I use to carry one on my belt when I was fishing. They are not very good fishing knives so now I just leave a couple in my truck.

I do not carry one on my belt but I have guys that do carry them on their belts,so I think I would include a belt loop.

Could always make a removable belt loop or tech lok or 1 of the other mounting systems out there?

skip the loop man, nobody carries a thin 8 or 9 in blade on the hip when fishing.

I would never gut a fish on shore with my fillet, no rocks and sand for the long scalpel.

If you don't include a belt loop people will probably complain it doesn't have one.

Here are some better photos of the latest prototype! For now we've implemented a detachable belt loop using Chicago screws, the system we have in mind is sleeker but we're waiting for hardware. I think its time to build a bigger light-box...

That is one sharp looking setup. I wonder how grippy it is when your hands are all slimy? They look great for the job.

At the moment we are waiting for feedback from our beta testers on how the knife performs. Once we have input we'll make any necessary changes; Then we'll be ready to put the knife into production!

On another note we've decided on a name for the knife! It will be called the Kermode.
