Help designing my new work shop

Yes great input, I'm definitely trying to incorporate as much as feasible and the budget allows. Looking forward to branching into forging and heat treating. So much to do, so much to learn, so little time LOL.

Yeah, man! That's looking better!
For forge exhaust, what I've done is run a big round forge hood into a stove pipe/chimney kit up through the roof. It catches quite a lot of the heat and exhaust gases, but I intend to improve that by adding an inline furnace fan to the pipe. Or perhaps, an exhaust pull fan onto the roof.

what style roof is planned? which room is forge going in? i would get a couple of attic exhaust fans and install one in each room.

If you have large machines, you'll want to keep that shop constantly above at least 50f or so in the winter. Otherwise, if you go in there and fire up the forge on a cold day, your machines will sweat and flash rust. If your forge is not sufficiently exhausted to the outside, the water vapor in the flue gases will exacerbate this effect. It is a huge PITA.

I was planning to dry wall the ceiling. Exhaust fans are a good idea I'll add that to the list. I will keep the shop above 50 to avoid the flash rust and keep the pipes from bursting
