HELP! Did I get burned?

So I traded my makarov for a NIB Benchmade 32 Mini-Morpho and some cash a couple months back. I finally went back to get it out of the safe (or as my friends call it, the "zombie closet") just a couple days ago. I started taking a closer look at it, and I noticed something funny: The handles are smooth, while other photos online seem to be textured to some degree. I've never handled an actual 32, but the guy had it with a legit Benchmade box so I didn't think anything of it at the time. I started digging and I found out that there are knock-off Benchmades out there :thumbdn::barf:

So now I'm thinking I got burned. Can anyone tell me if this is a legit 32 or if it is a knockoff?

Box and pouch it came in.

Notice the handles are smooth. That is what's irking me.

Benchmade logo.

I'm not sure but I think that before benchmade became benchmade, their trademark was Bali-Song knives.

No problem mang :)
The BK logo is weird though, that stands for BenchKote, that knife is not coated and doesn't really appear to be stripped, but it could very well be.

Granted, I'm not an expert. But, I did have a 32, and that is certainly different than mine. Also, and it could just be the pictures, your hardware appears to be a different color than mine.

I'm pretty sure it is the lighting in my pics. My hardware looks like yours. What are your handles like?

Hmmmm...well as far as I know all of the clips should just say BENCHMADE in laser etching....not with the logo.

Well, the G-10 on my handles are textured. Also, the liners underneath should have texture, too. Almost like a "swirl" pattern on them.

Call Benchmade and ask them to look at some pictures of the knife that you have taken. Ask them if it's ok if you send them an email with the images included. that can be a definite answer. If you send the knife you might need to have a legitimate knife dealer with a physical store send it in on your behalf.
what stands for BenchKote?

The BK logo on every black coated knife that Benchmade has made in the last 10 or so years. Post 9 explained that already. it would seem that another company has a registered the term "BenchKote" already though.

Problem right here. That logo should be just scooted to the right a little bit. the logo should be split on where the grind starts. It is supposed to say bali-song, but the logo seems to be misplaced. Bottom of the 32 should be lined up with the bottom of the wings too. On my 51 the words even seem to be in a slightly different color, just darker, than the butterfly, though it may just be because it is a bold font. the hardware seems off too. the screws should be buried in the g10 not sitting on top.

http://www.teraasekeskus.com/image.asp?src=BenchmadeMorphosNew1.jpg&width=1024&height=768 look at the logo placement, it should be on the edge of the grind, not completely on the flat part.

those handles do appear to be too smooth. while my g10 is very smooth on my 51, but you can see a pattern. I cannot see a pattern at all in yours.

I will do my best to get you some good pictures but my phone is not good enough and my camera isnt on me.
