HELP! Did I get burned?

Yea, looking at my 32, the grind is definitely different than yours. Also the G10, while smooth, has some texture on mine; like the onslaught or dejavoo. Yours looks different.

(( not in the general knife discussion, you don't ))

Thanks for all the help guys :( Looks like I have a new bali to beat the $hit out of.

That sucks dude. I feel for you. Almost everytime I buy a knife I have some fear that I'm getting a fake.

If the transaction happened on the forums, it might be a good idea to start a GBU thread as well, contact the trader and ask some follow up questions.

Happened FTF during a trade of a gun :( The guy's name was Nick and it was an armslist response. I deleted the email. Poo. Oh well, you live and learn.

Sorry bud, didn't mean to point out everything and push it to be fake, just wanted to find the details to come to an accurate decision. I hate theives and people who decieve people. Special place in hell for them there is...

My 32 didn't look like that, but I can't speak to differences in model years. Mine was two or three years old and had textured black G10 with blue inserts.

Well, guess I have another good reason to dislike BM. Not like I would have ever bought one, the are way too expensive, and feel cheap to me.

The benchmade knives I've checked out felt like a fake something anyway. Grinds the quality of a fake, the heat treat of a fake, etc. That and them making every single one of the Harley knives overseas while charging what most do for American made knives was the final turn off.

condolences, that definitely looks like a fake...

clip color is wrong, handles are off, the spring latch looks like its a disc not a half sphere (or rather 1/3), grind if not the same, the markings are off, well you get the point. but looks like it could be an okay beater.

however, that box looks okay? it really does to me, or at least at a glance.

what an evil thing to do, trading a fake face to face.

It looks like you should call Benchmade and ask a few probing questions. There seem to be some differences in the knife you have vs the standard model 32. Benchmade did get one thing right: the 171 chopper. Bladesports can attest to that!

Does the fake have a spring latch? The real deal has a pretty nifty torsion bar spring latch integrated into the liner.

Are you serious? Think about your statement. 1) Start a GBU thread, 2) contact the trader and 3) ask some follow up questions. It's this kind of thing that makes 80% of the GBU a bunch of crap. Why even bring up starting a GBU thread until it has been throughly discussed with the trader???

Really sorry this happened to you but to echo the others, it does look like a fake. The benchmade on the clip should not have a butterfly in the design and the lettering is upside down compared to the 32's I've seen. One other thing; check out the sides of your bali, right below where the latch is located. The real morpho has a silver coloured, inch long, jimped spacer there.

Hope something good comes your way to offset this loss.
