Help for a cheap knife

<<< Every hour or two.....>>>
Cool, see would you get that feeling with a lesser knife?? No!! As for the bathroom mirror part ....your on your own there buddy;) ;)

<<<I need a good sharpening system next,>>>
Get the Sharpmaker. All your knives will love it. I didn't want to spend the 45bucks on a sharpener but its the best KNIFE purchase I have made. Now all my older blades are sooooo much better. I even touch up the edge on new knives and the difference is great. Next on my list is to learn to correctly use a bench stone.

Good idea.

Turn your Sharpmaker base over. See the two grooves? Lay two rods in them and you have an instant improvised benchstone. (That's what the grooves are for.)

Not the ultimate, but a good way to practice on an old kitchen knife or Opinel or Mora.

Edit: I should add, this is a safer way to sharpen the tip of your knife, since running the blade down the rods could round that tip off.

Actually that was the deciding feature why I bought the Sharpmaker, Still need to practice holding a angle. I have a Mora on the way plus old kitchen knives that I can sacrifice.

Still need to practice holding a angle.

Lay the edge on the stone, with your thumb on the back of blade and resting on the stone. By raising or lowering where the blade meets your thumb, you will hold that angle.
