Ok all you gun fans out there
I have a question for ya's, Did anyone see the sci-fi channel movie series "Taken"? I am trying to find out what type of gun was used by the sniper, a revolver with a long barrel and stock, that came apart. It also looked to be a large caliber. Any ideas or thoughts?

I only vaguely recall the gun. I may have had a guess then, but don't now. I do know I thought it was idiotic then.

Why would anyone use a revolver, with or without stock, for 'sniping'? With one exception all centerfire handguns in my home are revolvers. I'm pretty good with them. I wouldn't use one.

But am waiting to see answer. It was pure Hollywood though.

IIRC I have seen that revolver in a lot of movies. It seems to be based on a Ruger Redhawk with a stupid detachable barrel/supressor and attachable stock. It is a bogus firearm I would assume.

John love the Colt S/a
I do think that the bayonet is absolutly perfect!
Where did you get the pic from? I have never seen anything like that before in my life.

If I remember correctly reading somewhere else, Archangel is right about it being a Redhawk.

It's also a prop that has seen lots of TV and movie work. Was on at least one Xfiles episode too

A red dot sight on Mr Powell's home defense gun would be state of the art.

Im not to sure about adding the laser sight, wouldnt that take away from the "rustic" look?;)
And lets not forget that its an old cap an ball Colt...I would accept the laser sight if it was a c&b Remington, at least they dont take 4+1/2hours to re-load:p

Serious question John, where do those bayonets come from and what are they worth? I know a guy who has one for sale and was considering taking it off his hands but was wondering who they were made for etc.

Second question, where do you get these images from????

The "kukri bayonets" show up on eBay about once a month.

munk, I'm with Linton ~ I wouldn't recommend anyone hanging anything off of their Johnson. Especially a bayonent! If that's what it's creator had in mind it would have come equipped that way!:D
