Help Identifying Old Axe Head

Everybody made an axe that looked like that - Jersey pattern. Without a visible stamp it is just guesswork.
 
It is most likely an old hardware axe that was made by one of the big 4 with a paper stamp on that has long since gone away.
 
I was working on filing the pole and found 3 1/2 stamped on it.

OP did you ever finish your project or find any markings?

Operator, who are the big 4?
