Help in Colorado Springs Area Needed

My wife is attending an 3 day school on painting and interior design the 24, 25, and 26th of February in Colorado Springs. I will accompany her on the trip and am wondering what to do when I am there. My best thought was to find someone in the Colorado Springs area that might have knowledge in the area of making damascus. I know this is kind of a longshot and may seem odd, but if there is a knifemaker in that area that would be willing to let me visit their shop on one or two of those days to share in the process of making damascus, I would jump at the chance for some education in that area. I am 49 years old and farm in Nebraska. If I would need to pay for your trouble that would work out too. Anyone out there?
Thanks, Mike

We have a knifemaker in Wray, CO (I think) - goes by Arksknives, I think. Don't know how close to Colorado Springs that is. I just bought a knife from him.

Contact Steve Rollert at http://www.doveknives.com/. He sounds like exactly what you're looking for and he's within driving distance. Also, Mike Irie is in Springs. I've never contacted him but he's in the phone book.

Go up I-25 one hour to Denver, continue north and west to Golden, and visit Spyderco!!
