Help me decide on ZT

sjhong,
Definitely understood. I'm okay with that issue. I've become accustomed to things not fitting my hand perfectly. My Techno is a three finger grip and I love it. Doubt I would do any hard cutting with it. I have other blades for that type of work.

Then definitely go for it.
I've held and owned most mictech knives out there (Hinderers, Striders, CRK, and Rockstead) and IMHO, the ZT 0456 is on par with all of them, for half the price.

No doubt. I gave up waiting on thumb studs and bronze washers. I don't have anything with a flipper and bearings so it will be something different. I'm sure there is something to flippers and bearings, they are definitely popular. Sounds like fun.

ZT usually puts up pics of each model in-hand, but I don't think they did for the 456. So here's mine.

I bought a ZT0900 as my very first serious knife, and I haven't bought another flipper since. I like the feeling of a thumbstud better. I don;t own a Spyderco, but I'd probably like a Spyderhole more than a flipper too.

bflying,
Thanks for the pics. What glove size do you wear? I would imagine my pinky would ride on the slant at the heel.

Hey Whitty could you take a pic like bflying if it's not too much trouble? Same on the 909. Or anyone with large hands for that matter.

Thanks RuggDogg,
That really helps. Looks like we are in the same boat height and weight wise. I'm definitely getting the 909 next

Only 5'10", 205#...wear L - XL gloves (depending on style and purpose)
Too much trouble trying to take pictures of the knife in my right hand; but these should show the fit.

Personally, I find the handle/fit of the 0456 to be better than that of the 0095...but the 0200 and 0560 are clear winners in that category, IMO

Thanks hhmoore,
Everyone is so freakin helpful here. Feel like I found a second home.:cool:

The 0560/0561 is a killer knife. Definitely will not have trouble filling your hand.

I usually just wear regular Large gloves. No doubt the handle of the 456 is not the biggest out there. But this guy feels solid in the hand, probably because of the girth also. There are very few, if any, similarities between the 456 and the other Sinkevich ZT designs.

But again, I don't think you could go wrong with any of the models released 2015-2016. Not saying pre-2015 are bad, but they sure seemed to up the game with fit/finish, milling detail, and final tolerances (no pun intended).

SFW,
Definitely a classic beauty. I think I like the blade shape on the 909 better though.

bflying,
The 2016's do have something about them that appeals to me. If I possibly can, I'll be getting the 909 and the 456. Trying to sell a few backups to fund the purchases. I seem to be having a hard time communicating with emails right now.
