Help me find a good fixed blade

I need help finding a good fixed blade in the $250 range. I'm going camping soon and I need something awesome to show off but it also needs to be useful. Also I'm a folder guy all the way, and have never owned a fixed blade. So any suggestions???

Do you have a preference in blade length? How about a Bark River Bravo 1, or Bravo 1.25?

For your budget, and for camping i would get a Becker BK9, BK16 and a BK11/14/24 (any one of those that suits your fancy.

With a BK9 (can't not have a 9) a "Tweener" (BK 16 or 17) and a Necker, (BK11, 14 or 24) you would be set for just about anything a knife could be asked to use in and around camp.

Oh, and forgot to mention, with some careful shopping, you would have money left over from your budget after acquiring all three!:thumbup:

Look at the knife makers for sale area here for fixed blades. I just saw some great customs the last week that are under 250. You can get an amazing blade for 250 or under!! Also check out the for sale are for fixed blades as well. Fallkniven, swamp rat, Esee, Ontario, Custom knives, Survive, Bradford, Lionsteel, etc.

Good luck, there are lots to choose from!

In the states, we generally say "boning knife" not "boner " . Very nice knife .
