Help me find a new folder!

How about a nice Kershaw Sapphire? Very nice, classy, discontinued, but still lots around if you look.

I just purchased a Kershaw Leek for my EDC, it's made in the USA, holds and edge well, easy to sharpen and only cost me $50. The pocket clip can be move to either end of the knife for tip up or tip down carry. I really like it. A co-worker went out and got one the next day because he liked mine so well. You could get 3 of the for your price limit.

If I were going to go Kershaw, I would probably go with the Blur... it's around the same price.

Do you like the lock on yours? That has been the only complaint I have heard from the Kershaw series.

I've had no issues with the lock up. I use it to cut rope, wire, tie wraps, etc.. It's fairly slim and is comfortable in my pocket or waistband.

Thanks!

Anyone else?

Does anyone have experience with the cheap Leatherman folders?

Anyone care to comment on the Emerson?

The Emerson mini7 lists for $167.95 an their website.
If you needed to hold it, trust me, they'll take it back if you are disappointed and you haven't messed it up.
Emerson's are built like no other for the price, and once you hold it, you won't let go.\

But to each his own.

Hawk, what steel does yours have? I don't know much about knife steels but I heard 440A isn't the best. They do have a Blur in S30V (?) I believe.

As for the Emerson, I REALLY like the CQC 7 but I don't know if I can jsutify the price right now.

Never had a problem with the lockup on my Kershaw Blur, and the grip is just grippy enough, doesn't tear up my pockets or my hand.
My friend once took my knife into the water to cut some things up that his fishing lure got snagged in, and he commented on how well it cuts and the grip on it.
The assist opening opens up dead quick too, and pretty addicting to play with!

GreyMethod, since you have your email turned off, contact me by PM or email. You won't regret this!

Surprised no one has mentioned the G10 Tyrade. This is a knife that you can get for under $100 shipped, and a knife that would still sell out at double the price, of course IMO! A CPMD2 blade that is 3.75" X .157", Speed Safe, and liners that are .080" thick for excellent lockup. It's a can't miss edc!

I have a friend with a couple Grips... they are an option. I might go to walmart within the next couple days to check out the Kershaw.

And SPX, I emailed you!
