Help me find a specific barlow

Glad I was able to help. Let us know what you think of it.

I received my Russell in the mail and I have to say, I really like this knife. Fit and finish are great. It has the slightest up down blade play, but it's just a slight little click. No side to side. The lock is a very firm press but I'm sure it will let up a bit.
The micarta has some brown showing just a bit on the edges which I really like a lot. The feel of the scales is nice too. Not to slippery. Blade center is just about dead nuts.

I'm going to get or make a pocket sheath for this so it rides nice and vertical. Any suggestions for that would be great.
Thanks again guys for all the ideas and suggestions.

I'm a little surprised it has any up and down play. If it's more than you can tolerate, you can contact A.G. Russell and they will make it right. Very glad you like the knife. Looking forward to seeing the pouch you make for it.

That's a great looking knife. I'm glad you found one that could satisfy most of your criteria.

I'm not sure how picky is too picky. I mean the blade doesn't noticeably wiggle up and down when cutting, it's just when it's locked and you press down on it you get a tiny click and slight travel. The lock bar sticks up a very small amount from the frame when locked (on blade end). I wonder if it's just a fitting thing.

I'm not sure anyone but a picky type would even notice

With most of my lock backs, I experience up and down play.

One exception has been Cold Steel lockbacks. But they are not really traditional.

Those AG Russell imports sure catch my eye. I have one of their large sod busters and it is very well built.
