Help me out! My knives are too visible!

Sample of burned clip:

Or you can search arsonhammock youtube on how to do that

You can purchase a black Para2 clip and screw set from Spyderco for about $8 shipped give or take.

Be careful heating up your stainless clips. You can make them brittle and they will lose their spring.

This was a polished clip.I heated it up on a gas stove and quenched it in warm water. I have been useing the knife for around 4 months and it is holding up very well. No loss of tention as long as you quench it.

I bought a black PM2 clip direct from Spyderco for about 6 or 7 dollars shipped. Just call them up and order it.

Been trying to find RIT dye. Art supply stores don't have them, walmart doesn't either. I'm not sure where to look.

Your local fabric store or craft store my have the Rite Dye. Amazon has black Rite dye for $4.39 for 1 1/8 oz.. I'm sure there are other places on line you could get this also. As others have posted you could get the black pocket clip from Spyderco. I have ordered a number of items like this from them with very fast shipping to me. Also U.S. knife maker has pre-bent titanium deep carry clips. The mounting holes need to be elongated ( to the inside, Para 2's hole spacing is a little narrower) a little to match up with the holes on the Para 2 and you'll need to purchase a 25 pack of black 1/4" 2x56 screws. The screws will have to be trimmed a little to fit properly. The original factory screws are a little to short as the titanium clip is a little thicker than the stock clip. With only two screws holding the deep carry clip you want all the thread purchase you can get. I have several of the titanium clips and they are very strong and they don't reflect or shine. Good luck with your search!

Yea I'm already going to get a black clip from spyderco for the PM2. The RIT dye is for the Tasman. I much rather have a Tasman with me at battleschool. It performs amazingly.

Did you try the grocery store like mentioned? They don't always have a ton of colors but have the basics. A little surprised Walmart didn't have it. And art supply really wouldn't have clothing dye. A fabric or craft store should have it. I think I have also seen it in a pharmacy like Walgreens, CVS, or Rite Aid.

never been to a Canadian battle school just a couple US ones, so this is just my opinion.

for me, YMMV, camouflage and concealment in a battle scenario or simulation,(and in the real thing) usually involves going prone, quickly and often.

My point, I would put them in my pocket, as in the chest pocket, so it doesn't come un-clipped when prone and back-peddling away or to cover.

once again, just my opinion, YMMV.

as for rit dye at the walsmart, did you ask if they had it or just walk around and look? I ask this because, every time I just look around for something in the place I think it should be it never is.

good luck

just to add, I assumed "battle school" was some sort of Canadian military training school, if its some sort of video game thing then, NO, I've never been to one of those.(or Canadian mil training, just US)

My question is... what is a "battle school" and what's the point of having to have the knife be concealed if you're going to wear a tactical vest anyways? I did a quick search and all I could find are video game related info.

The courses name isn't technically battle school, but most of us refer to it as that since it's a bother to say Basic Infantry Qualifications, and no one knows what the hell we're talking about outside of the army when we say BIQ or DP1. I get what you mean about going prone very often, as my unit has had me out in the field giving me some pre-training training. I haven't had an incident yet with the knife coming loose from the tactical vest collar, but I could spend some more time finding a possibly better spot for it. Regardless, even if it doesn't give me away, having a bright yellow thing poking out would have an instructor down my throat.

I asked various employees at walmart, and even tried to get them to look up RIT die at other locations, but no luck. Grocery stores around here are very food specific, so I highly doubt I'd find it there. I'll be looking for a fabric store tomorrow.

Little late. Dunno if you're still wondering, but heres a para2 with a standard clip I etched (see previous post). You can go a bit darker if you want. Kind of a crappy picture but it's really low glare, looks like a titanium CRK clip (that color). I rubbed over the Spyderco symbol with a sharpie then quickly wiped it off, leaving only the recessed logo inked at the end.
