help me plan another CT gathering

I say we go for it in SEPT. It would be a bit cooler at night, maybe we could get an early frost and take out some of the bugs. Early fall is a great time to camp to..T-shirts during the day and light jackets at night. Just my 2 cents..but I will follow the croud here. Gene
 
I wish I could make it to war, but I don't see that happening for me. Anyway Marty will have to put up with me for a week in Aug, there is only so much of me a normal human being cold stand.

I'm with Gene, cooler weather and less bugs.
 
alright then let's call the date set at september 5-7, even though it might be difficult for some people to make it since it is right after WAR.

kev, could you pm or email me the address so that i can scout it out on googlemaps?

Simon, go a little bit more up river. It is approximately 1/5 of a mile from the Marandinos supermarket. The site you posted is the old canoe shop location that is now a dog kennel. Great fishing there but not an island. What you are seeing in the middle of the river are minor class I and class II rapids.
 
by up river you mean the opposite way you go when you are drifting down it?

let me go check...
 
You got it! Look for the split in the river, you can't miss it.
 
The buildings in the bottom of the screen capture are the River Run condo complex. If you put that condo complex at the top of the screen, you would see the island on the bottom probably. In other words, it is in the middle of the first screen capture you posted and this one.

Sorry! I'm not being that clear in my explanations.
 
okay i think i see it. it is rather subtle on the map, so i think it didn't even register before...

so right now i am counting 8 people...

kevin, go ahead and spread the word on "the other forum" too if you would like.

as we get closer i will start to pull together more solid details like times and more reliable numbers.

oh and i will plan on bringing a couple of new knives for everyone to play with as well...

wish i could go but i cant im not old enough. And i dont have any adults that would go with me that wouldnt think we are all weirdos. lmao.
 
i was just up there -it was so nice. im from new haven/north haven. i live in georgia now--but i would have love to go
